Best thing for Jennings is have another big year or semi big year. He can get 3 year for $45 million. $15 million a year. Not with this team. But it's out there for him. Maybe Tennessee where he would be real happy.
Don't really agree with this. Jennings was always better than his previous numbers indicated, but his opportunities were limited by the players around him. That's why I think you could make the case for having extended Jennings last year for $12-15 million and let Aiyuk walk. Don't get me wrong, I like Aiyuk, but I don't think he's a $30 million dollar a year receiver, whereas I could easily see Jennings in that 12-15 million bracket.
Aiyuk for $30 million is what is really breaking our cap. Jennings is well worth $15 million. I personally always thought he was much better than how we used him. He's an Anquan Boldin type. He has it all. Height, weight, speed, length, fierce blocking, high point the ball, dive on the loose ball, ball in the air is HIS, aggressive, physical, routes, hands. He just doesn't have straight line speed. But he was always wildly under estimated by our team, fans and other teams. When featured he proved what he could do. I always believed he could. Had he not been thrown out of the game he would have been 1,000+ yards and maybe 7 TD's (we give him maybe +1 more than he had). That's right on par with some Aiyuk years. He's a different player and does it a different way. It's not a speed guy. But everything else you could want.
He was always better than a #3 IMO. He's at least a high end #2.
