Had to be done. A contract of necessity. This team is only going to be able to attempt to upgrade so many offensive lineman. We are already going to have to try to get another tackle to replace Trent. We don't want to find ourselves needing to find two. Jaylen Moore got 15 mil a year, the same amount, so its not like we were going to be able to find a cheaper or better option on the open market.
I like Colton, Gold helmet guy and a good player. I had already resigned myself to losing him as the end of the season. This is a pleasant surprise.

Exactly. You've got to play someone at RT and McKivitz has been about league average or so for a while, and he's healthy. Will have to look at trends here because no one on the offensive line played particularly well yesterday, Puni was awful.

That's more Brendel IMO. The stunts and blitzes always go inside towards the Center and why wouldn't you? He's the weak link. Puni is an excellent player. I don't think most of the bad is on Puni.

Every fan base thinks every player either is or needs to be the greatest in the NFL.

You need a middle class. And this is a middle class deal. Just like they offered JJ.

Trent was probably our worst lineman yesterday, which is actually a good thing because IMO he's just rusty after doing basically nothing all off season.

Puni is still banged up and it showed. I thought overall Colton played well especially in pass pro.
McKivitz is a good player. I know fans want first rounders across the OL but that just isn't realistic. Most lines are pieced together with 1 maybe 2 1st or 2nd rounders & the rest is later round picks or even UDFA's.

Puni was BAD yesterday. PFF had him graded at 51.2

Trent Williams was also bad. He allowed 6 pressures and had a 55.2 grade

Brendel (70.6), Bartch (73.7) and McKivitz (62.4 with an 85.1 passing grade) all played well.
Good that we signed him for cheaper than what he was going to get as a FA next year.

PFF is not a reliable source for anything about anything. Brendel was getting thrown around like a rag doll. I watched it. If somebody stunts inside and Brendel mess up like he does I can't put that on Puni. They have no idea what the assignments and schemes are. Impossible for them to say who is good or not. But Brendel is not good if you just watch the games. He's terrible.

Idk Trent looked terrible and was graded as such. He was worse than Brendel to the naked eye. Sometimes they aren't wrong

Every major pro writer uses their stuff. Most get the premium package which is very good. However, the standard package still gives a good comparative ranking of players though without the details.
