Are we a better team with Trent - ABSOLUTELY 100%.

But, eventually we'll have to pay a price for not investing in the OLine and getting quality players in FA and the draft for so long.

Picking guys like Connor Colby and hoping they turn into something they're not isn't a successful strategy.

The Bill is going to come due.

Trent is working on more time off

No, clowney is too unproductive.

Very possible, though the mentality was different last year when even guys like him and Bosa, who never show before camp, did the whole off-season program.
How about signing Taylor Decker then trade Williams? Can probably sign Decker for $20-25m and use those savings towards some other piece. Honestly love the idea of getting some trade value for Trent before it's too late.

Decker is not that good people he was released for a reason.

I'm not sure there's a bad choice here, other than grossly overpaying Trent.

Trent is a beast and has been an important part of the team's success, but age doesn't care about past achievements. The team should get decent value in a trade, presumably creating cap room. It's profoundly unlikely we replace Trent with another Trent, but Trent may no longer be Trent. Meanwhile, if he's still on the team we have another (full?) season of leadership and blocking by a HoF lineman. Both options come with risks: the replacement player is mid, or Trent misses a bunch of games due to aging knees or whatever. Anyone pretending to know which path is better is fooling themselves.
hendrickson gone.

I would like to see us bring back huff and land a tier b rusher with speed who can react to draws and screens
Supposedly there are 7 first round tackles in this draft so it seems likely the 49ers will grab one of those. Miller, Iheanachor and Lomu would be the ones most likely available at 27.

Clowny would be a 1 year deal, if draft pick works out Clowny is a situational pass rusher at best. Cheap option, better than what we have right now opposite Bosa.

Not to mention Bosa may not be Bosa anymore after another knee surgery

He's been more productive than N.Bosa over the last two seasons.
