I'm 50/50 because Purdy will be running for his life, but they really do not prioritize o-line so I worry about Purdy getting hurt. Otherwise, I agree we need to get younger. Please remind them you do that buy drafting offensive linemen lol

It doesn't matter, Trent Williams is at that age where this team is better off moving on. No sense holding onto Trent Williams another year, especially if we're not in a go-all-in win it all mode.

If they still want to win a SB you keep him and draft a replacement and let him sit and learn. Year after year they failed to find an eventual replacement for Trent. This is their own grave they have dug. If you have no intention of competing for a ring then yeah trade him but you might as well trade CMC while he still has value then.

Paraag isn't the problem. At what point do you get a replacement when you have a LT headed towards age 40?

Also I dont think Trent has any plans to retire any time soon. He's said this for years. He wants another 3 years and possibly 100 million.

With that said, if they could get a McKivitz level tackle and center for about what it would take to sign Trent, I'd prefer that route.

I love Trent but he was getting dominated against the Seahawks dline and was injured more often .

SIDENOTE : Jed better move that electrical station just out of basic principle.
There's now a lot of talk about possibly trading him, what's he worth on the trade market? My guess is teams could be hesitant because of age and salary demands but I'm sure there's someone out there like KC that could be desperate.

Even if we were in "all in" mode, is he worth what he's asking for?? I'm guessing he's demanding 2-3 years at 25-30 mil per year.

I thought it was more about him not wanting to take less and not demanding more?
Trade him and sign Rasheed Walker
Ian Rap just said something along the lines of "a lot" needs to happen for Trent to be in a 49er uniform next season.

I don't think my definition of a lot is the same as his lol
Good o line are hard to find around the NFL. I bet we could get a hell of a haul for him. I'd love to keep him but I'd be curious what teams offer for him.

i like our chances to compete much better this year than last year. Just need our team to stay healthy. I don't think the Seahawks lost a single starter last year playing violent defense.

True but I think I lean more towards what you said earlier tank; the ol Bill Walsh saying of you move on from a player a year early vice a year late. Love Trent and it will definitely hurt if he's gone, but if we can get a decent return in a trade then I think we have to do it.

Then draft big Max outta ASU
