I'm thinking that they can build a wall on the interior of Kingston and Nugent pan out. Then just draft two tackles yearly until we can get 3 deep at the position lol.

Then rotate in fresh OL all game until we wear the defense out!!! Genius.

Doesn't work for OL, but that was funny.

Abd the lesson they learned from mcg is you can replicate his performance with a late round pick.

As for banks, yeah I could see them going as high as a late 2nd for an ol. But the point was if we somehow ended up with a high pick, there's almost no chance we'd use it for a T

I still don't understand why people are not bashing this guy more in comparison with Aiyuk.

Aiyuk is on the last year of his rookie deal, while Trent is under contract for another 3 years. It is a ridiculous to be holding out for this long with that many years on your contract. I say get your ass to to practice or get gone. If we give into this type of stuff, we are going to have are best players holding out every year looking for more money.
They both aggravate me but Auyik has been a giant douchebag about the whole thing from the get go so he tops my list.

No we won't. The niners are still a playoff team without Trent. Which means we're drafting in the 20s. Could've easily moved up into the 20s this year too.

This coaching staff doesn't care to draft OL high and they never will

Banks and Puni are two of their best ones outside of TW. He was extremely high 1st round for another team. So three of the best ones were picked higher. What does that tell you?

Funny thing is, McKivitz is slightly better at pass protection, but McGlinchey with us was an elite run blocker. McGlinchey > McKivitz, but the cost gives McKivitz the nod.

Probably right about the draft- even though there aren't too many holes left. I could actually see then going DE lol, but I'd hope they'd take a tackle if they were truly an elite prospect. I think McGlinchey was good, but I didn't consider him an elite prospect (the Notre Dame vs Miami game did it for me).

Exactly. This is what I don't get about these contracts. These players, with their agents, come to an agreement to play under certain terms for a certain time period for a certain amount of money. And then, in the middle of that SIGNED contract, they decide they don't like it anymore and want a new contract with new new terms.

why is this even allowed in the NFL ? I get the NFL takes on more revenue every year, and in a way the current philosophy forces the owners to "spread the wealth", but these players holding their teams hostage until they get what they want is ludicrous.

Yes we need Trent. Yes we need Aiyuk. But maybe these guys deserve to play on lesser teams. Let them collect their checks, then end up without a ring when their careers end so they feel like dopes.

What do you mean why is it allowed lol. You want the NFL to be able to force someone to play or they go to prison or something?

A player who has out played his contract has one option if an agreement for a pay raise can't be reached: hold out

No team in history had to "let it happen". The teams can refuse to pay anything more if they want

Like Joe Douglas in NYJ
I don't know what he wants but it needs to be a total priority over Brandon as it should have been all along. Tricky territory. He probably has two years max in the tank left. A spring chicken he is not but he might have it over the 9ers big time.

Nothings been said. I get wanting money guaranteed but it seems he has a massive ego and probably wants a raise per market value etc.

I mean if we had to choose then I agree TW is the easy choice.

They really cornered themselves when this last draft gave them the opportunity to not have this be a thing. Sigh.

i'm sure that the guaranteed money he has been given, can be owed back to the team if he doesn't play

and it sounds like D Jack is full of it
