All because the team didnt sign him before the WR market exploded.

Fixed.

lol what

If we made a good offer to him before the wide receiver market exploded, we would have already locked him up.

Instead, he sees players like Amon St. Brown getting $30M and clear #2 WRs like Devonta Smith getting $25M a year, and we have people wondering why he wont sign for $26M.

Do you have any proof to this claim? No. Didn't think so. Lol

Dude what? Almost 100% of the posts in this thread in the last couple weeks arent supplied with "proof."

What an odd question to come at me with.

So how do you know they didn't make him a good offer?

It wasnt good enough for him to sign. Good is subjective. It wasnt good enough at the time (in BA's eyes), is what I meant.

Gotcha.

If they're having friends make real numbers public then he will get extended.

They're negotiating in public. BA has to save face. It's not about the money. He was wayyy too online this summer and pounded his chest. Niners need to stick to their overall price but make it seem like he's won. That's important to BA. He needs the public dub more than anything else.

I would not be surprised if they give him a deal with big APY money but mostly made of non gtd money

If BA wanted $28M and the front office offered him $26M months ago and didnt budge, this entire ordeal could have been completely avoided. Just give him the damn $28M.

What are we doing here? Its 2 freakin million dollars, and the cap goes up every year.

Of course, $28m in CA is less than $28m in other less taxed states, so that probably factors in.

It would be nice if there was a way to make the cap number variable to after state tax rates were accounted for to make it more equal, but that's never gonna happen.

It's a process that takes a while. I think both sides are very close, and the fact that the 49ers allowed Aiyuk to talk to other teams helped a ton for each side to get on the same page with regards to valuation. I have a bit more hope 49ers and Aiyuk can come to an agreement - but probably takes a couple more days/weeks before this is resolved. We shall see.

True. $130m overall contract vs. $140m overall contract just doesn't seem too far to bridge, but what do I know.

IMO that DJ Moore deal is fair. Maybe a little bit more.

edit:

Make it work SF

If 28 has been his number this whole time this deal should have been done LOOOOONG time ago. They should easily be able to make this work

Agreed

Yep, I would hope we all agree. Doesn't mention guaranteed money but it does leave it in Lynch's court. Step up Lynch

Give him the 28 and get this done.
At least make an offer for 27 million.

Reportedly it was $26 per yr (which means nothing without context of the full deal) apparently via through his personnel WR coach Houshmandzadeh, he's willing to take $28M per.

That's waddle/moore money. SF from what we've heard hasn't offered anything since May, hopefully that's changed

Which is exactly where he should be. No more of this Chase, JJ, Hill, ASB nonsense.

I had read from a dude on twitter that was really early with the Pitt talk before it blew up that BA was at 28.2m....I thought it was complete BS.....but it sure seems accurate now.

Reckon TJ was sorta letting out some of the negotiation info so the fans will know what the money was? I also think a lot of all this holdout stuff is a lets get ours before they break the bank on Brock.
I keep telling folk that the Bosa deal is what's affected Aiyuk. We spent a good bit more than we would've liked to on Bosa but that's just me he breaks when you're extending the reigning DPOY
