All because the team didnt sign him before the WR market exploded.

He's definitely asking for a ton of money. It pretty well sets him up for life if he manages his finances well. 49ers might go a bit towards the McVay cap binge and purge route with Aiyuk. Basically McVay bought a Super Bowl a la the '94 49ers. We shall see.

If he cared solely about then money he'd be in a patriot uniform by now

I think we get a 1st+ from pit and only use like a 2nd for Sutton. Something in that ball park. If or a 4th or later for one of the other guys I mentioned. We'll come out ahead in the draft pick aspect. But obviously behind in the player aspect. That's in the unlikely event a 3 team trade happens

Just for clarity, you're not considering the contract offer being on the table for months and BA rejecting it at all?

if they had offered him the number he required to sign, all would be well? And, since we don't know his desired dollar amount, let's call it $32mil. So, all would be well with you if we had signed him before the draft at $32mil?

Strange to me how little we regard the idea that there are two sides negotiating here

lol what

If we made a good offer to him before the wide receiver market exploded, we would have already locked him up.

Instead, he sees players like Amon St. Brown getting $30M and clear #2 WRs like Devonta Smith getting $25M a year, and we have people wondering why he wont sign for $26M.

Cincy has no desire to trade Tee is actually practicing. Him and Aiyuk situation aren't the same

I dont believe that we would have needed to get anywhere close to $32M if we would have finalized his deal prior to St. Brown and Devonta Smith signing their contracts.

Do you have any proof to this claim? No. Didn't think so. Lol

Dude what? Almost 100% of the posts in this thread in the last couple weeks arent supplied with "proof."

What an odd question to come at me with.

Probably right. I thought then that $26 was about right (I was actually closer to $25).

from what I gather $26 was the initial offer and he refused. I can't blame the niners for that… assuming the information is accurate

I think BA went into this process trying to get everything he can. In order to accomplish that, he wasn't going to sign early regardless.

I think it's silly to believe otherwise.

The problem is he wants the money and to be on the Niners. But the Niners don't overpay for players, and the team is balanced because of that. A big part of our success. Either be down with that and sign the damn contract or go get your bag for a crap team.

I agree in the sense that we know Aiyuk is very good and they wanted him so why not just get the deal done asap.

Instead they follow the numbers to a fault. First Fa then draft and then they look at their own based on he the market went. Usually that works in their favor but everyone knew the market would jump so who knows.

I mean they do have all the leverage in the process, but taking a step back from this process itself, I feel it's hurting the team and their ultimate goals.

The niners have set the market with several of our players. We do, in fact, overpay for players. We just don't appear ready to overpay for BA. And, I'm good with that 🤷‍♂️
