The 9ers behavior? More like Aiyuk's ass got his bluff called and now he's backpedaling or stalling like he f**ked up.

i just have a hard time seeing him as a dominant force thru 40.

I agree but that's the market. If the 9ers could get Purdy to sign for less they would do it in a heartbeat.

Right and that's my point with BA and people saying they're fine with him leaving or whatever. That's the market you want a really good player (all-pro) that plays a premium position. It's gonna cost $$. His cap doesn't really matter for a couple yrs anyway. They can totally pay him, if they really want too.

you damn well know if he doesn't come back and Deebo gets hurt. Folks are gonna be complaining that Brock is throwing the ball to a couple rookies and JJ…even though folks are downplaying the importance of WRs overall.

That's always the case, my friend. Which is the reason why I want BA to just frickin sign already. I know all of this is over a few million a year which is dumb AF if you ask me. Honestly I don't see BA being traded already I could give a f**k what anyone says, the more it drags out the less chance of him being traded.

I get what NY is saying but until we know what the actual terms are - we can't understand how the contract would impact us.

what if BA wants a 3 year extension? Nearly fully guaranteed? That does have a big impact on the near cap.

if he signed a 4-5 year contract, that's different. It's just hard to say without know anything about length, guaranteed money etc.

Will be interesting to see if anything comes from BA's agent visiting the Raiders. Adams is the only receiver that can make this team better now. Would be crazy to see him in red and gold.

I have to imagine he his agent has players on the Raiders also.
Yeah he has one, Thayer Munford, and I doubt he made a trip there just to see him and say hello.

Could represent a front office guy or coach there. Isn't he the agent for Lynch? Or could be meeting with a player looking to hire an agent or switch.
The niners have no incentive to make a trade that's bad for them just to make BA happy. That's just the way it is. All this hand-wringing and freaking out it just wasted energy. BA can't even hold out without owing the team another year due to his lack of accrued time as a player. If he sits the entire year, foregoing all those millions, the niners still own his rights for another contract year, and still have franchise tag options (not that they'd likely use them other than to tag & trade). Save the freakouts until there's something to freak out over. This is looking like the Deebo situation all over again.

Made it to a SB in 209 with a rookie WR and an old WR we traded for in the middle of the season.

we have a better team now than then and some how we suck if BA is gone.. when we already showed we can get there without him ?

shoot, JJ was the star of the last SB for us

I mean with that train of thought we shouldn't pay Brock and just grab Jimmy G when he gets cut in LA lol.

Shoot why are we paying CMC? I mean we got to the SB with Mostert and Wilson back there.

go watch the SB, BA was open a lot and for whatever reason Brock wasn't looking his way, probably couldn't because we couldn't pass-protect. But you know that's not important either we got to the SB with person/garland before.
So your counter to this is we should go back to lesser talent yeah you definitely off the meds today

I wonder...if a poster, maybe, I don't know, a handful of us, thought this was a possibility? Nah, we need, deserve, fire and brimstone.

I don't understand the niners logic, if this is the case. Why not just up your offer months ago? Why go multiple months without even talking, if you were going to do this?

why risk causing a distraction for the team? Team chemistry etc. just weird, especially if it's only a million or two.

So this!!!! Amen man!!!!

This is why Aiyuk should sign the damn contract already or should've STFU and taken what NE offered. This crying and whining to get his way to Washington or Pittsburgh is stupid AF.

Trent's what 35? I'm sure him and the 9ers aren't looking for a 5 year deal. 2 years with a good amount of guarantees and he's good, he's shown no signs of drop off either

Thats what i said all along, He can accept the offer or he can play under his current contract or he can set out and lose money or he can accept a trade that is beneficial to the 49ers. BA has no leverage in this negotiation.
Stalemate. Who blinks first. Niners asking for TWO first round picks!?!?!? Everyone with half a brain knows BA ain't worth that!!! But, you do have Jerry Jones, et al. Who may believe that BA makes his team better. Meh

I'd be surprised if Trent wanted an extension. I think he has like 3 years left on his contract.

I think he just wants those three seasons to make him paid amongst the highest in the league and give him guaranteed money (he has none left).

I don't the issue is actually paying him, it's structuring the guaranteed money incase he retires, so we don't get slapped with some mega bill if he does retire earlier than the team thinks he will.

maybe we can just do a deal where year by year that he plays - his money gets guaranteed. Would be a pain though
