The worst outcome is we keep him for his 5th year option and he is mad at us but he has to play to earn his next contract so oh well
Right
Some of you guys have restored my faith as with all the naysayers I almost had to look myself in the mirror.
Glad to see we have a lot of rational fans that have studied how Lynch rolls
He ain't HOF for nothing. He ain't getting punked

Super players as they are these guys still don't push a team over the edge.

Emotions are an important driving force and can be used as fuel during preparation but when it's time to do business you compartmentalize emotion and use logic and reasoning to make calculated decisions
There is nothing wrong with what I can observe we've done this far and the worst thing to do would be to relinquish the leverage of the $14M option contract for a 💩 deal
We aint that stupid. We will make Aiyuk play this out then tag him at seasons end and that's why we took the option so we can have the options

That's why I said earlier in this thread that I don't think Aiyuk really moves the needle for us winning a Super Bowl.

Most reliant position in football. If I was a GM my money would go to DLine, Secondary, O line and QB.
I'm with you. Solid D and O lines will always keep you in a game. The linemen are part of every play. On the other hand even the greatest WR isn't going to help if your QB doesn't have time to throw. WRs are typically targeted 10 times or less per game. Aiyuk averaged less than 7 targets per game. Is that really worth $30 million per season. I'm sure that Jennings Deebo and Pearsall can make up those 7 targets per game.

Right. People have been having breakdowns in here not thinking our FO has the least bit of common sense and an understanding of the leverage they've opted into since last year
This behavior is very common for some of our fans 😔
I trust Shanny and Lynch. They don't lose elite players without being properly compensated. Everyone just needs to relax and let this play out.

The Niners are always pretty tight lipped about what's happening with this team. There may be issues that none of us or the so called insiders are aware of.

Yeah, i'd be inclined to just shut the door, but I do see the value in having Aiyuk figure out for himself the grass 'ain't always greener. When he gets face to face with it, he sees most places are places he really doesn't want to go, and if he opts for the 5th year option and we tag and trade him, he'd still be looking down that barrel with us having a huge say as to where he goes. And he sees not many teams will give up a 1st for him, so how does that even equate to that pay, so will it last? His best option is to sign our offered contract, and our best outcome is for him to believe that, go win some Super Bowls, and be much stronger going into your next contract. John Lynch can tease anything he wants, but the devil being in the details, he can always just say no. I think John's got this.
You know what? I think this whole thing is really about him still being butt hurt over being in Kyle's dog house early on. Brandon, are you man enough to grow up? Kyle was right, you know, and you wouldn't be in the position to think you were worth $30m a year if he hadn't insisted you get your $hit together and learn how to be a pro. Now, how 'bout you finish the job.

The market is sometimes irrational, and you have to keep that in mind. You see that all the time in so called *real estate bubbles* for example. If anyone knows about WR football value versus market player salary value it's Kyle.

Yeah, it takes discipline to do what most folks don't want you to do.

I'm definitely for offensive and defensive lines. They set up everything for everybody, especially the OLine for QBs. Give Purdy 4 seconds in the pocket and he'll shread any defense.
Between Aiyuk and Trent, I'd value Trent more.
