SF is about to do the same thing. Get rid of the young player in favor of keeping the older one. drafted his replacement who wasn't even a faction of what the guy they moved was….

SF Won't even get proper compensation for him this time around and get zero assets to help the team in an all in Sb or bust yr.

They f**ked it up so badly.

What should they do? Give into his demands? So the next guy pulls the same s**t?

ya i dont see this as f**king up

he outplayed his contract and we are already highest paid at pretty much every position we cant justify 30 million a year on a WR. But Aiyuk wants to be paid what the market is i see both sides don't fault either this is the business part

The front office f**ked up badly by obtaining too much talent.

Apparently. How people are blaming the FO, I don't understand. They tried to get the deal done early, but BA wanted to wait for the market to unfold.

Pretty sure Pitt has to take all his prorated signing bonus $ and get it accelerated to hit their cap this yr for them in a trade.

🤣

fans here freaking out not realizing 49ers are doing the right thing

You cant keep em all all the time but we can keep Aiyuk here for $14M so we will

Folk are just "tired of the drama" and are reacting emotionally to the business. Both parties are right but only one has the leverage and the team is rightfully using it. Nothing to see here

No they shouldn't. They shouldn't trade him and let him sit at home and lose money, if he doesn't want to play ball.

trading him right now is doing exactly that. Giving into his demands. IF they had zero intentions of negotiating a deal with him then a trade at the right time should have been an option…that time has come and gone.

That's how I see it unfolding. Keep him on that 5th year and if he sits out he sits out.

What's that? Selling their 26 yr old all-pro WR who led the team in yards for pennies on the dollar?

yeah just like they did the "right thing" moving Buck. At least they did it when they SHOULD be trading a player.

Hey man I hope they keep him here…sure as s**t doesn't sound like that's the plan at this pt.

Back during the draft the only player with a contract was St. Brown and that's a reasonable contract that I'm sure we thought we could get it done. And I don't know how having him sit at home losing money helps us ever win a Super Bowl not just this year. The FO is not f**king up Aiyuk is being unreasonable and thinks he can dictate what we do.

Nonsense. Aiyuk, his baby mama, and his family are cancers.

Right, and there isn't any concrete information out there. Just a lot of crap being thrown at the wall... stirring up the reactions.

When was the correct time to trade him and how do you know if offers came in but they weren't good enough?

Also what if the FO really thought they could get him resigned by now? I don't blame the FO for waiting to see if they could get him resigned.

Stop listening to media and use your own common sense. If you were John and Kyle what would you have done?

I am betting you would have offered him prior to the draft the largest contract you could afford and when he didn't bite you would have asked for at least a top 15 pick so you could replace him like we did with Buck.

If you couldn't get the pick you wanted you'd hold onto Aiyuk post draft for $14M trying to negotiate an extension and worst case scenario you got him this year due to exercising your option and you can play him then tag and trade or extend him next year if you so please

That is what anyone of us amateurs would do and you can best believe that is what Lynch would do especially after we've seen how they never let Jimmy loose when we had him under contract

Teams thought they could get him for nothing but they didn't because we are not a charity

He better ask Jimmy G

And we have fans here that should know better reacting to it. All we have to do is ask ourselves how would we have played it as amateurs and best believe the brass is two steps ahead of any of us and they've shown precedent
