They should franchise tag him two years in a row. haha

Calvin Austin low key excites me.
Same! Was a big fan when he came out, as well as Daniel's. Dude could be our starting C of the future. All that said, still not sure if they are worth losing Aiyuk. We'd still be the losers in that trade unless both players flip the switch and become what people thought of them coming into their draft

We are getting backups and future day 2 picks for an All Pro WR?
I saw that we are trading Aiyuk for a fifth rounder and their backup DE.
Its Aiyuk and a fifth rounder for a backup DE.
If that's the deal I'm punching somebody in the head.
I don't believe this for a second.

The Niners most likely have a trade proposal to the Steelers and are waiting for the Steelers to accept. Makes no sense to make the Steelers keep submitting stuff that gets turned down.
Niners give them the "buy it now" price and that's it. If they don't want BA enough - the Niners hold on to him. It's not complicated.

Feels like we are going to get screwed on this Trade like we did with TO.
always gonna get screwed in a forced trade scenario
Yeah, but technically they're weren't forced. He's under contract. For whatever that's worth….apparently not much
teams generally don't keep players that don't want to be there. B.A forced the trade by saying trade me as well as by saying I want what i'm worth, not what your willing to give me.
I can't blame Aiyuk if that's his position. You should be paid for what you are worth. But as an employee you are paid for what the positon is worth, not *your* worth. Unfortunately for the 49ers the WR market exploded on them. Not their fault. I still think there is a chance to retain Aiyuk, but it's clear he wants more money and my optimism is really low now on keeping him - considering the current WR market. I still have hope though.
The market determines the players worth, but we are dealing with humans not computers so it is what it is. I do blame the 49ers for not knowing what was coming, the NFL is a business not a guessing game. We supposedly over paid Kap & Jimmy G because we knew the QB market would explode and those deals would look like steals, so we can't now turn around and say they didn't know. WE reset the RB market by extending CMC, so our front office are not victims here.
Now I wonder what this means for Trent? Without him we are just a regular team.
I don't know. Look, if they stink it up with s**tty compensation in return, I am with you. But, they played this thing about as well as they could. No one is clairvoyant, people can overpay, underpay, and get it right, and of course, get it dead wrong. I think the X factor is that we talking about people with egos; if anything, maybe they underestimated Aiyuk's need to feel like and be paid like a top guy?

If Aiyuk is in fact traded, I hope the Niners make a statement by locking up Lenoir, Ward and getting the Silverback taken care of quickly.
This is how I'm viewing the Aiyuk trade. We are trading Aiyuk for a back up OL, a future draft pick, and keeping Deebo

OK OK Aiyuk and a 3rd round pick for a backup DE?

Okay let's say the Pats put Bourne on the market for trade by himself…what would people offer? A conditional 6th or 7th?
what the f**k are we doing?!
Cooper is better no doubt, but on the open market he went for a 5th/6th 3 years ago lol. You can't tell me his trade value improves after yrs of play.
Whatever with the 2nd rd pick s**t. We have no idea of what it's value is and SF will likely draft Drake Jackson 2.0 all over again.
dude, what a bunch pussies.
Did they not offer BA 26 million? So you would pay him to be the highest WR in the NFL even though he clearly is not in the top 5 or even top 10
You think he's asking for more money than JJ? He said he wants what ASB got. Saying he's clearly not in the top 10 is a subjective take and according to coaches/FO personnel who were asked he was.
