I fully expect the trade to be underwhelming and will send the webzone into chaos.

Possibly a 2nd rd pick and some backup receiver.

The 9ers should just stand firm and tell Aiyuk he's going nowhere this season.

Wonder if Aiyuk knows he's going to be in an Arthur SMith offense? Guess he'll find out when his receptions drop by 50%. Also going to the worst team in that division. Weird.

He'd get to play with Mr Unlimited though.

Gross. So cringe.

I hope we eject the trade last minute
At this point, the 49ers have to play hardball. If they don't, they just open themselves up for the next player that wants to try this crap. I would pull the extension offer, and just let Aiyuk know they are "Leasing the Lambo at 14.1 million". That plus two franchise tags, and let Aiyuk fight for a long term contract at 29 - instead of 26.
Can Aiyuk come back and play with the 49ers and be happy? I don't see how. Anyway if he leaves the 49ers aren't going to fall apart. People were upset when Buckner left and the team went on to another SB. Fans want the team to keep every good player but in this era of overpaid athletes and salary caps it's really hard. This isn't like it was in the 80s. They're projected to be quite a bit over the cap next year so that means there will be a lot of cuts and restructuring.

I like this idea best.

I agree with hardball. but i don't think SF will franchise tag for 2 years, or even one. They've proven to be a franchise that tries to avoid drama, only ever using the tag for Gould, and that was weird. I don't see them buying this distraction for the next 3 years and essentially holding a player here against his will. If BA wants out, they'll cut ties and get whatever they can. Kyle isn't the type of coach who puts up with that drama.

This isn't the first player to demand a trade and be given approval to speak to other teams for a trade. Some of those players end up signing the extension and are just fine and understand its business.

According to a Mike Silver article in the Chronicle this morning, Aiyuk has ticked off Shanahan in a way Samuel did not.

"...according to multiple sources, the head coach is bothered by Aiyuk's behavior, from the receiver's conspicuous "bro hugs" to his perceived brooding, and willing to move on."

My thoughts exactly, may even help the situation. Would be worse if they denied him the opportunity to explore a trade.

See nothing about a 1st. Heard it's their 2nd and 3rd and possibly something in 2026 as well.
Personally I would just sit his ass instead of taking a second rounder but then again maybe playing with Wilson and Fields is punishment enough. Either way the act is growing tiresome and I'm all about players getting paid.

Silver doesn't have insider info, be cautious of his stuff
