I'm assuming they'd only acquire him if they knew they could reach a deal on something reasonable within their long term cap framework.
They'd get weaker at WR but the pass rush would go back to terrifying again. Bosa, Floyd and Judon is a hell of an edge trio.

72 receptions, 1250 yards, 9 TD's (played with 3 different QBs)
Aiyuk last year:
75 receptions, 1343 yards, 7 TD's
Obv aiyuks a better player and younger, but Amari coopers a solid return
Cooper went for 250+yards and 3tds in one game last year. He's been boom or bust in his career even with the Raiders.

In a vacuum, I feel like Kyle Shanahan would rather have Kendrick Bourne and the Patriots' 2 than Amari Cooper and the Browns' 2

I don't like either trade. But I get having Cooper or Bourne would soften the WR drop off for this season.

I could dream right lol
I would be good with the first option! But the 49ers had multiple chances to draft Jones, and didn't. As I've said before, they don't see him as an athletic fit for the outside zone - so doubt they even considered him.

Take away the outlier (which by the way, was his most recent regular season game so it's pretty significant and shouldn't just be dismissed entirely) and he still had 71 YPG which is 1,200+ for a full season.
The Browns also had a merry-go-round at the QB position.
I really don't think Cooper would be a bad return at all. Sure I would prefer a 2nd or Jack Conklin to go with him but Cooper is a reasonable centerpiece to an Aiyuk trade, especially if Aiyuk makes $30M+ a year and we only have to pay Cooper a very small amount.

It's a one pick or blow off is the message.

Because a one-year rental does way more to help us this year than a 2025 pick does?

That's pretty complicated. Do they really want to extend a 32 year old Judon with Trent wanting more money and Ward/Lenoir deals almost up.

Conklin is pretty broken down at this point. Not sure he'd be a plus in any trade.

The goal is decrease payroll not increase it. There is a $50m a year contract looming. The 1 is much better.
And besides, the help us this year theory is played out. We have a top roster and we will still have a top roster if Brandon departs. Like I said earlier, maybe it's time to increase the workload for some of our stars like George.

You have to remember that the first two years he was in the doghouse. Look at how he has behaved this off-season. I also remember the chiefs secondary coach discussing how he played in the Super Bowl and him saying the only thing #11 did all Super Bowl was try to fight.
there is probably so much behind-the-scenes with him. The 49ers just aren't willing to pay him what he wants because of the immaturity he probably has.
this does remind me of deforest Buckner in that we may regret this one day and wish we paid him.
I think Buckner regrets it more. We have continued to win, had another Super Bowl appearance. The only 49ers regret should be in picking Kinlaw.
I am on ream keep Aiyuk, due to his star rising, not even in his prime, and his health. He can contribute 5- 6 years from now. But I do wonder if he can shoulder being the focal point of an offense. That part remains to be seen.
