Idk why you're upset with them.

Aiyuk just wants what the market is saying an all pro WR is.

Trent is at the end of career and the best at his position, he just wants to be paid like it and have guaranteed money on his contract incase he gets hurt.

really can't fault them. It sucks but I understand both of their positions.

I wouldn't do it, but I understand Trent's position. I don't agree at all with BAs.

if he was worth what he thinks he's worth, someone would have offered an agreeable trade package. He's not, and they didn't.

BA is good. Maybe great. But he doesn't have last years stats with 28 of the 32 NFL teams. Kyle is a quantifiable value-add to BAs 2023 statistics

Shanahan isn't holding out 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️.

Trent just wants that money moved to guaranteed in case he pulls a hammy. BA wants to be paid like a 1500 yard receiver with 10 TDs.

Agree 💯% It's the consequence of having free agency and the Cap in the NFL. Players are, in a sense, mercenaries - hired by the team that will pay the most. Even Purdy, will play *only* for the team that gives him the best contract from a value/money standpoint next year. If folks think signing Aiyuk is hard, wait till Purdy's up next - in a year. There's going to be a nuclear meltdown sometime around this time next year.

I'd wager it won't be near as difficult to resign purdy. More money, yes. Less b******t haggling, also yes

I would have agreed with you, but I thought the same way about Aiyuk until the JJ contract exploded the WR market. I don't think it helps that the other top flight WR's have subsequently kept the market value explosion on going too. The Bosa, Deebo, and Jimmy G. deals also went through a similar process. Fans just have to take all that's happening as par for the course on these good players. This *would not happen* of the 49er players sucked.

Agreed. Trent is older and looking to secure his future. I get that… and I'd probably oblige to a certain extent.

BA wants the money his number seem to demand while ignoring the obvious benefits he reaped playing on such a stacked roster with Kyle calling plays.

I think we all saw this coming with BA, to a certain extent . This dude was posting "I'm unhappy" b******t on his social media well before we reached the negotiation phase

bye bye Brandon

Yup

Oh well. I'd rather have him as we are much stronger, but the team can't keep doing this (being held up by players). I'm also doubting he is traded as the team likely wants a first. They could've gotten a 2nd for him during the draft if the team was open to that. I can't see a team giving up a first and paying Aiyuk 30 million.

Aiyuk is good, really good. But 30 million + and a first good? You have to take over games at the number and he just hasn't done that.

I tend to agree. We shall see.

Would be nice but I'm not feeling optimistic about that. Maybe he isn't inlove with his trade options and ends up thinking staying here is best for him? Would be cool

It comes down to what his market value is. 49ers say one thing, Aiyuk says another. It's, in my opinion, a good way for either Aiyuk or the 49ers (or both) to really accurately gauge Aiyuk's true NFL value. Once that is done, this will be resolve one way or another. Hopefully in the 49ers favor. P.S. 49ers hold all the cards.

The reality is that there are teams willing to pay Aiyuk what he desires. Question is are they willing to trade assets to us for him and does Aiyuk want to be on those teams.

The answer is no they are not willing, otherwise the trade would have been done already. Hence, the 49ers have Aiyuk this year and the threat of an F-Tag next year, which puts the cards in the 49ers favor. Aiyuk can't leave the team if the 49ers won't get what they want - period. They will just wait out Aiyuk. NY85 is right - Aiyuk will lose too much money not playing this year and the 49ers will be *fair* once both sides know the Aiyuk's *real* market value range.

I think this is a sign that both Aiyuk and 49ers are close to a deal, for Aiyuk to have one last shot at establishing a higher market value than what the 49ers are offering right now. If Aiyuk is successful, the 49ers will match it to a certain extent that Aiyuk playing for the 49ers this year is more palatable to Aiyuk than holding out and not playing.
Give me Davonte Adams or make Auyik play out that final year.

That's just typical posturing. BA won't do that without checking with his agent first.
Of the deals that are floating out there, give me Cooper & 2nd. Cooper still may have a few good years left in the tank with his route running. Hopefully we can extend him at a cheaper rate & then we have Cooper & Pearsall moving forward to beat man coverage. Maybe we keep Deebo & maybe we are able to keep Ward and/or Lenoir too!

Right. My point is I can't imagine we'll see that type of posturing with Brock. Could be wrong
This wait is almost as bad as the 10 minute rest time before cutting into your steak.

Idk wtf is wrong with WRs
Or better yet Davante Adams for Aiyuk. That's probably a pipe dream though.
