I think having Sherfield give the coaches no reason to rush Aiyuk back the last 2 games. They are giving Aiyuk more and more snaps each game seems like.

BUT if you think about it, offenses should be designed like the old K-Gun (Bills) where the WRs will rotate on both sides (X to Y and Y to X) but will run the same route.. meaning, no matter who lined up where, they will run the route Kelly told them to..

Im sure he can. It's a divide concept. Just meant that sherffield had to run a go route. They should be familiar with it.
His only catch was so crucial to keep the drive alive. Damn that wingspan came in clutch that throw and catch was difficult ! Lol

Snap count is good evidence of what the coaches think. His lack of targets is because Aiyuk simply does not compliment Jimmy's game the way Deebo does. The routes that Aiyuk usually runs outside the numbers aren't in the area of the field that Jimmy likes to utilize. For Aiyuk to show his true potential, he needs to work (and get targeted on) Posts/Fades, Deep Outs, Comebacks. We've seen enough of Jimmy by now to know that isn't his strength.

I'm not too sure about this bc Aiyuks last 6 full games in 2020 he averaged 9 targets, 94 yards and .7 tds per game and that was with weak armed Mullen's and Beathard who rarely threw outside the numbers much like Jimmy G. He's open all over the field and was beating number 1 cbs often. Making plays and he also was open so many more times but our qbs chose to throw to another option multiple times.

Jimmys strength or not, it didn't matter last year when Aiyuk was on an absolute tear with Mullen's and Beathard. He's simply not being thrown to

It's not that Aiyuk can't produce with Jimmy, Aiyuk can live in the middle of the field just fine. But I think he has the speed and route running to make a killing outside the numbers where he can stay away from safeties/LBs that help the CB in the middle of the field.

But isn't that the problem? Jimmy is best throwing over the middle within 15 yards of the LOS. When throwing outside the numbers Jimmy is not as good and the ball gets intercepted. So could it be the reason Aiyuk isn't getting the ball as much is because Jimmy is afraid of making a mistake and throwing a pick, knowing if he does that He could lose his starting job? I believe Kyle is scheming Aiyuk open. The ball is just not going to him. Whether that's a trust issue between the two of them or Jimmy not confident enough to make those throws or Jimmy just playing it safe it is definitely something that needs to be fixed if they plan on going deep into the playoffs and to the Super Bowl. Aiyuk is too good of a player to ignore.

Do you have film on this or that just based on opinion?

Dude, you don't need film review to understand why guys are getting open in Shanny's scheme. His litany of motion, shifts, and mis-matches alone Indicates how he scheme guys guts open. All that's needed is to watch the game. If you need more than that you probably need to attend the nearest, next coaching clinic.
Some of you are really talking jibberish. Aiyuk can run any route on the field. Inside or outside. Hes not just an outside the numbers or deep guy. Also Shanny can sprinkle him with a quick screen, reverse , slant, etc anytime he wants. Aiyuk is intentionally not getting looks so far for whatever reason. It aint that hard to scheme a few targets for him (or anyone for that matter). If BA doesnt get it going vs the Pack it should become obvious that something is certainly wrong.

I think that Jimmy likes going to Deebo and Kittle - I don't think it has anything to do with Aiyuk not getting open.

I said in another thread I think Shanny had the training wheels on the offense for week 1 & 2. Week 1 we did nothing special. We ran play actions over the middle to Deebo. Everyone has seen that before. We also ran successfully. Not really any gadget plays were needed because they were not necessary against the Lions. Week 2 we played a tough Eagles D and did just enough on offense to win. Of course we would have liked to light up the score board, but it wasn't that kind of game.

I think this week we will see the sweeps, reverses, Kittle & Aiyuk featured more. Maybe a little more Lance than week 1. Shanny likes primetime games as well. We shall see
Aiyuk breakout game coming.

Kyle just might be too hard on WR's, especially now as HC/GM/OC. At the same time Aiyuk might not be meeting his expectations in practice or locker room so he might need to grow up some.

It's such an odd situation we have and Aiyuk is the one that needs to figure it out because we've seen WR's do well one season here only to disappear completely off the roster the next with Kyle. Kid might need to follow Deebo like a puppy and see what he's doing right and emulate it.
