The routes that Aiyuk usually runs outside the numbers aren't in the area of the field that Jimmy likes to utilize. For Aiyuk to show his true potential, he needs to work (and get targeted on) Posts/Fades, Deep Outs, Comebacks. We've seen enough of Jimmy by now to know that isn't his strength.

I'm not too sure about this bc Aiyuks last 6 full games in 2020 he averaged 9 targets, 94 yards and .7 tds per game and that was with weak armed Mullen's and Beathard who rarely threw outside the numbers much like Jimmy G. He's open all over the field and was beating number 1 cbs often. Making plays and he also was open so many more times but our qbs chose to throw to another option multiple times.

Jimmys strength or not, it didn't matter last year when Aiyuk was on an absolute tear with Mullen's and Beathard. He's simply not being thrown to

Aiyuk should get some targets in this one cause I think Jaire gonna follow Deebo around. So I expect Kittle and or Aiyuk to feast

I agree that's what's going to happen unless GB does some zone coverage. Big games from Aiyuk Juice and Kittle imo
He'll be fine, maybe Jimmy just feels more comfortable throwing to Deebo because he's usually in the middle of the field. I feel like Aiyuk is more of an actual outside the numbers guy and Jimmy rarely goes there

It's not that Aiyuk can't produce with Jimmy, Aiyuk can live in the middle of the field just fine. But I think he has the speed and route running to make a killing outside the numbers where he can stay away from safeties/LBs that help the CB in the middle of the field.
People forget that last season, Deebo and BA hardly were on the field together so guys are still figuring out their roles. Add Kittle to the mix and it gets even more complicated.

With the massacre at running back, I expect Kyle to supplement EM with a heavy dose of WR runs. I would like to see BA get some touches with end-arounds and screens to get his juices flowing and confidence up.

But isn't that the problem? Jimmy is best throwing over the middle within 15 yards of the LOS. When throwing outside the numbers Jimmy is not as good and the ball gets intercepted. So could it be the reason Aiyuk isn't getting the ball as much is because Jimmy is afraid of making a mistake and throwing a pick, knowing if he does that He could lose his starting job? I believe Kyle is scheming Aiyuk open. The ball is just not going to him. Whether that's a trust issue between the two of them or Jimmy not confident enough to make those throws or Jimmy just playing it safe it is definitely something that needs to be fixed if they plan on going deep into the playoffs and to the Super Bowl. Aiyuk is too good of a player to ignore.

Yeah, we've got to get Aiyuk incorporated into the game plan. He's just too good not to feed him the ball.

We'll need a QB who can throw outside the numbers for that to happen.

This may be more a scheme thing than anything else. Watching Jimmy's college tape, he threw outside the numbers often.

Probably a bit of both. Outside zone runs and a good "in the numbers" passing game are a great combo with how Shanny manipulates the O line and formations. But still, Jimmy's deep ball leaves allot to be desired.
Deebo said Sherfield seeing him lined up on the wrong side, adjusted his routes also. Wonder if Aiyuk in his second year can offer that on the fly...

I think having Sherfield give the coaches no reason to rush Aiyuk back the last 2 games. They are giving Aiyuk more and more snaps each game seems like.
