Snap count is good evidence of what the coaches think. His lack of targets is because Aiyuk simply does not compliment Jimmy's game the way Deebo does. The routes that Aiyuk usually runs outside the numbers aren't in the area of the field that Jimmy likes to utilize. For Aiyuk to show his true potential, he needs to work (and get targeted on) Posts/Fades, Deep Outs, Comebacks. We've seen enough of Jimmy by now to know that isn't his strength.
I'm not too sure about this bc Aiyuks last 6 full games in 2020 he averaged 9 targets, 94 yards and .7 tds per game and that was with weak armed Mullen's and Beathard who rarely threw outside the numbers much like Jimmy G. He's open all over the field and was beating number 1 cbs often. Making plays and he also was open so many more times but our qbs chose to throw to another option multiple times.
Jimmys strength or not, it didn't matter last year when Aiyuk was on an absolute tear with Mullen's and Beathard. He's simply not being thrown to
