We will need him. This season is 17 games and long so I'm expecting more from him.
This game was very ball control, King sustained drives to keep the ball out of hurts hands and it worked. Felt like a Harbaugh game but we won.
im expecting more from Aiyuk next week against Rogers.

Aiyuk will get his day again. No need to be concerned or listen to the rumors. He is very well part of this offense.

WR snap counts for SF-PHI since these seem to be a topic of interest…

Deebo Samuel: 49
Brandon Aiyuk: 38
Trent Sherfield: 24
Mohamed Sanu: 20
Jauan Jennings: 6
Aiyuk's snap usage back up firmly to No. 2. Deebo obviously remains the most targeted 49ers WR

He made a pretty big catch yesterday on that 3rd down. that's progress.
He was their 1st round pick, they're not going to just toss him to the side.
It's still very early into the season and you think he's just not going to play?
Deebo goes out, and this dude is our best WR on the roster.

Snap count is good evidence of what the coaches think. His lack of targets is because Aiyuk simply does not compliment Jimmy's game the way Deebo does. The routes that Aiyuk usually runs outside the numbers aren't in the area of the field that Jimmy likes to utilize. For Aiyuk to show his true potential, he needs to work (and get targeted on) Posts/Fades, Deep Outs, Comebacks. We've seen enough of Jimmy by now to know that isn't his strength.

He did make a big catch. I was happy for him. I think you have to feed WRs early and often to keep them engaged and confident. 1 catch in 2 games just aint gonna get it done for a guy that was talked of as our #1 WR less a month ago. Give him a reverse, a quick screen, a slant, something.....2 targets after 2 whole games????? Thats not right and needs to be fixed asap.

Aiyuk is running the Goodwin deep decoy routes because team's respect his speed. That's why Deebo is so wide open in the middle of the field.

So if Aiyuk is "the perfect WR for Kyle's system" (which was something I heard from people ad nauseum after passing on every WR other than Ruggs), AND Aiyuk doesn't comment Jimmy's game very well, isn't the logical conclusion that Jimmy isn't a very good QB for Kyle's system?
I mean, right? It can't be both Aiyuk and Jimmy are perfect for Kyle's system if they can't seem to play together based on opposite strengths.
Tired of a QB who has consistently shown he can't throw outside the numbers.

So is Kyle, that's why he spent multiple 1st rounders to draft a QB with a powerful arm. About Aiyuk being a "perfect WR for Kyle", that might just be because he can RAC. And just because he can RAC doesn't mean he fits Jimmy's skillset. Jimmy can throw a bunch of Digs and Slants to Aiyuk, but Aiyuk imo can be so much more than that.

I am wondering if Aiyuk just doesn't have much chemistry with Jimmy right now. Let's remember that Aiyuk had Mullens throwing him passes for most of last season. And maybe Jimmy is just so use to throwing to Deebo and Kittle that he is not even looking for Aiyuk. It's not like Sherfield, Sanu, and Jennings are getting alot of targets either. Juice is not gettting much either. Plus Aiyuk is the deep threat on this team and Jimmy is just not pushing the ball down the field. Jimmy feels more comfortable with those 5 to 10 yard passes and that's where Deebo and Kittle live. I am afraid Aiyuk is going to continue to not get many targets until Lance takes over.
by the end of week 2 last year he only had 2 rec for 21 yards
