He was averaging 9 receptions per game for over 90 yards a game 94.6 yards/game) and almost a td (which was better than Jefferson) and was killing it the first part of camp. I Remember him whipping good number 1 cbs throughout the year as well.

Let the man play, he may need to work a little harder but we can easily lose a game or 2 bc our coach wanted to make an example out of him. That could mean the difference between winning the division or even a wild card.

I feel like telling Shanahan the line from die hard:

Hans! You motherf**ker, you made your point. Now let them pull back!

This is true guap. I really hope it was just to send a message if there's truth to any of it (could just be the hammy ) Aiyuk is a stud man we need him

I don't care what your attitude is or how lazy you are in practice if you are a gamer and you show up for the s**t that matters that's all I care about. I'll take a diva who puts up numbers over Trent Taylor's, Sanus, Trent Sherfields, Jalen Hurds, Kendrick Bournes all day everyday.

We don't see the whole picture. Maybe BA was screwing up in practice after a year in the system while Trent had everything down. We heard the stories of Trent's wife calling the plays at home. The dude is super humble in front of the press too. Sports is a meritocracy. The most talented and hardest workers make it on the field.

BA looked like crap in PS. He dropped passes and ran lazy ass routes. Did not look explosive at all.

Very strange, you gotta have that fire to constantly get better if you want to be good in the NFL. There's always gonna be Trent Sherfield's busting their ass waiting for their opportunity.
Sherfield caught 2 balls for 23 yards with a touchdown. I'd see those numbers as a great takeover.
Hopefully Kyle can get Aiyuk some easy plays early in the game to build up the confidence…I feel like he's got a case of the drops. Seeing it all through the preseason and in practice.

He's gotta get it together. We need him
t looks to me like Kyle is trying to light a fire under Aiyuk. Sherfield's emergence has set the stage for some real competition at the position which could result in a strong receiving corps.

i like what Kyle's doing. your spot is not guaranteed if you don't show up busting ass.

I think he's continuing to make that message known to Jimmy, but also Trey if and when he starts "If you screw up, and don't put in the work, next man up."

This falls on shanny. If aiyuk is not the guy he blew it big time picking the wrong guy in a loaded wr draft

Hopefully Kyle pushes the right buttons to get Aiyuk going. Dangle the carrot, or crack the whip? I thought Sanu, someone that Aiyuk was bummed about when he left the team last season, would provide a mentor figure?

That's exactly what's happening. He's lighting both of their asses up.

The talent is there…at some point it's on the kid to actually grind. Why do we always have to blame the coach when the player is the one not rising to the occasion.

no way man. Being lazy in practice will trickle down to other less talented players who can't afford to be loafing. Go hard or go home..

Because we don't have the magic crystal ball like the coach and the GMs do. They should know the future.

Agreed. If Aiyuk isn't going 100%, but gets playing time, other players (WRs) see it and it will bring the level of intensity down as a group. Kyle sees Aiyuk as a building block type of player and wants to see him grind hard all the time to provide an example for others.
