Nick Mullens had more garbage time pass attempts in 10 games (8 starts), than Cousins had in 16. You just hate Cousins. I have to imagine adding Beathard and Jimmy to this equation makes this notion that Aiyuk would have had more production if he had Cousins level of garbage time even sillier.

Dalvin Cook faced less 8 man boxes in 2020 than Jeff Wilson. Dalvin Cook faced less 8 man boxes in 2019 than Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman or Matt Breida. I agree with your point about Aiyuk, but you are throwing out nonsense to argue it.

I believe that Aiyuk is better than Jefferson. The difference in their production for me is the quarterback, while you seem to think its the situation.

Another misguided and shortsighted post about you. I can't say I'm surprised at all because it seems like you cherry pick way too much. You're arguing that Cook faced less eight man boxes than Wilson? You're using Wilson as an example to support your case? You got to be kidding me. I'm positive that Cook was paid way more attention to than Wilson. I'm sure we faced a lot of nine man boxes as well. But you of course neglected that Viking still have Adam Thielen and a way better offense then what we had last year. At no point have I ever said I hated Kirk cousins. That's a lie. Wow. You're assuming and you know what they say about people that assume.

I am reposting facts. A smaller percentage of Cook's carries were against 8 men boxes than Wilson. I am aware its a small sample size, which is why I posted that Cook faced less 8 men boxes in 2019 than EVERY ONE of our running backs too. You can try to make this out to be my argument or point of view all you want, but this isnt MY argument. They are literally factual statistics.

Of course the Vikings had a way better offense than we had. We didnt have our starting QB and our RB1. That isnt some groundbreaking analysis by you. Again, I actually agree with you that Aiyuk might be better than Jefferson. Aiyuk had to face circumstances which Jefferson didnt.

My point is, you listed a bunch of reasons why you have a similar opinion as me....but your reasons are largely inaccurate.

The reason Jefferson had a better season than Aiyuk was because Jefferson had his QB1 throwing him the ball, and Aiyuk had his QB2 and QB3 for most of the season. Thats the difference.

You can say you dont hate Cousins, but you certainly dont like him. Thats not an assumption. You dont like him.

WR1

i say deebo has that edge right now... if he is healthy. we got two great ones.. now need to rebuild the depth behind them

Fair enough. However you are wrong I have always liked cousins I just don't like the fact that he chokes so often with a great surrounding cast. That is literally "factual" as you would say. He is a better passer than what we have especially deep but he is not only bad under pressure but also throws some of the very worst ints I've ever seen vs sub par competition.

anyways if you weren't such a cherry picker of stats just to say I told you so you should of understood my initial point which is common sense. Aiyuk would of done better on the Vikings than on the niners. Possibly even better than Jefferson. Especially counting the 4 games he was injured/COVID lost.

Hope he doesn't turn to s**t like Pettis did after a great rookie season

Pettis and Aiyuk are comparable in zero ways. Completely different players and production.

Yeah Aiyuk actually has heart and toughness and is more explosive. I wouldn't be the least surprised if Pettis is out of the league in the next couple of years.

I thought Pettis was cut already this last year.

giants picked him up
I think this year he will be wr20 and keep improving to a top 10-15 type that has no limits to his game.

i didn't mean they have the same attitude or anything, just meant that "sophmore slump" type of issue. I wouldn't expect a drop from aiyuk for the same reason as pettis (lack of desire), but i'm just hoping aiyuk keeps getting better
