He's a douche bag and deserves the belt!

Maybe they will eventually just decide to cut him but it makes sense that they will hold him as long as possible and test what Aiyuk said about refusing to deal with the 49ers and waiting it out. It's not petty either, it's simply about money.

Agreed. If they can continue to recoup money while he's on the left squad list they definitely shouldn't just cut him.

This is just not reality. The 49ers are not being punished by taking on dead cap charges. They have to account for the cash they paid Aiyuk which was not reflected on the cap in either '24 or '25. The 49ers do not get to have their cake and eat it too.

If you have a problem with the dead cap charges, your issue is how the 49ers structured this contract.

Exactly. This would open up a crazy pandoras box where teams could circumvent the cap by either manipulating the situation or petitioning the league in grey area situations to gain cap space.

The 49ers already got a good chunk of $$ back (both real and cap) by insuring Aiyuk for injury. On top of that they may recover some portion of his signing bonus.

Just a live and learn situation
When AB was seeking a new contract, he said, "They won't get a Lambo without paying the Lambo price."
He's not going to get a Lambo opportunity carrying on like a Yugo.

I believe this has already happened. The Commanders would be foolish to take a chance on him.

He should have never signed the deal if he really hated it here. Trade would have happened at some point and he's most likely in DC with a bag of cash…..unless DC actually never wanted him.

Very rarely do you get to pick where and for how much as a NFL player….dude wasn't at that level.

Or shouldn't have nixed all but 1 team when the niners tried to get value for him.

100% dude was a whiny baby that didn't realize how the NFL works.

Say what you want about Deebo being a diva and not living up to his contract while he was here, but at least he seems like a genuinely good and likable guy, while Brandon Aiyuk come off as an loner(not by choice) anti-social loser. Maybe Jayden Daniels is the only "friend" he's made in who knows how long.

also Deebos 2021 season where he carried the offense was way more special than the easily forgettable back to back 1,000 yard (barely) seasons from Aiyuk that any solid Wr could put up when healthy in that offense

It's been 2 days with no social media posts by Aiyuk(i believe)

I wonder if someone finally got through to him. It will be interesting to see if he actually applies for reinstatement and shows up to get his release early enough to get a full training camp with the Commanders(although I would LOVE if they didn't even sign him after all this garbage)

I've seen some speculate that Jayden's mom is advising him and maybe even getting ready to represent him. Have to wonder if the 49ers will push for a tampering investigation if Commanders sign him. Pretty sure Jayden even talking to him about joining the team when under contract with the 49ers is a potential violation. Hard to prove of course.

She is a licensed agent and represents her son. If she's close to Brandon I'd imagine she would have told him he needs to stop talking a long time ago.I remember when Brandon told Jayden "they don't want me back" Jayden screamed for his mom. It is interesting if he's just bfs with Jayden or a family friend. His mom is crazy protective I'd be surprised if she wants some one with Aiyuk temperament around her son

I am sure she told him what everyone else has been saying. If you want out you file your paperwork to dismiss the old agent

Then you stop the ridiculous social media postings
Then you file for reinstatement with the league and the team
Then you force them to make a decision. Cut you or pay you $26M on 9/1

Simple
Any potential tampering charge/inquiry would probably go away if the Commanders traded for him. At least trade a late rounder for him.

I doubt they want him but if i'm the 49ers i'm looking at tampering charges unless they give me something.
Does anyone think Goodell would make Aiyuk take care of his warrant before reinstating him?

If we're being the warrant is minor stuff. If Aiyuk had any brains he'd get it settled long before training camp. Show up, pay the fines and move on.

And yet...

I am assuming he is getting his crap together to apply for reinstatement. However if the reports are true and Daniels mother is going to represent him this is mistake number 9K. Aiuyk needs someone skilled in the league and contract negotiations to guide him. Someone like a Ryan Williams! If it's Daniels mother that thing could go south in a hurry. Either way someone got through to him, I think that much is obvious. Drama King11 wouldn't just stop posting for no reason. Something is up.

One thing that will be interesting is Houshmenzadah doesn't think he'll play on a vet minimum deal. We'll see about that. Aiyuk maybe eating humble pie whether he wants to or not.

I don't think something is up with him not posting. Shoot.. it was a long time before any type of posts before this little episode

he's just probably doing whatever ever he's been doing with people who's making his head even bigger

Thing is I'm not sure a real agent would want to take him on right now.

Think about what he just did to any leverage he'd have in contract discussions. He essentially alienated and told 30 other teams he has no interest in being there(obviously 49ers are the obvious 31) so Washington knows he's literally expecting to sign with them the day after he's released by the 49ers.

If you're Washington are you giving him a long term deal? Hell no. Are you going to pay him based on his production and potential? Hell no.

Either Aiyuk signs a vet minimum not even fully guaranteed contract or Brandon Aiyuk doesn't play football again.

On top of that Aiyuk has 0 off the field marketing opportunities right now. What company would want to pay him for sponsorship? Really the only opportunity is if he has a monster season for Washington and is a perfect teammate and even then Washington kind of has him by the balls cuz of how much he's worshiped them this offseason.

I certainly wouldn't put money on Aiyuk getting another big $ deal again.
