Professional business man would never let a talented player walk without some sort of compensation. Especially if you know a team is out there just willing to sign him when he gets axed. Patience. Its not hurting anyone keeping him on the team except for the Commander fans and the "guys" who think the Niners are being mean.

lol everyone loving the "pettiness" but then says it's professional 😂 I love it personally I'm not complaining, I just don't like Jed saying he hopes to work things out because no way is Aiyuk on the roster week 1 activating 26M on the books and pushes this circus into the season. I'd be shocked if they let him practice with the team
Take that with a grain of salt. Jed is just making the politically correct statement to keep some hope alive for some sort of trade value. I get it. The worst thing to do would be to make some petty rag about him that would only result in dropping down the BAs level.

Emotionally, I would like to slap BA's face and put him back in diapers...

Jed should just never say anything

Shut up and pay, instead of shut up and play?

After looking into this, we actually wouldn't be on the hook for anything. His guarantees are gone and after being put on the reserve left squad list, he not only doesn't count toward the cap or 53, he is not entitled to any of his salary. He would have to actually report to earn anything.

We literally hold maximum leverage and don't have to do a thing lol. He either reports and plays for us or we find a trade and he reworks his deal to get outta town.

They put him on the reserve/left squad list at the end of last season though. He is on the active roster now per Over The Cap.

Max leverage until mandatory minicamp sometime in June. At that point there is risk of injury and 49ers don't want to be in that position. If he reports Day One I would expect him to be released that day.

There's so much that needs to happen before he can show up. He can't show up on the field like nothing happened.

So professional even you believed it. 100% lip service to make it look like we want to keep him hoping for some form of compensation, ZERO chance he plays on the team again.

Agree i don't get what he said was wrong. Is he suppose to say "yes he will be released at some point" and kill any type of trade leverage we may have? Make teams think the option is on the table.

We need file a petition and change our name to the 40Complainers

Sure but he doesn't have to say that either and he seemed to really emphasize it. I don't think anyone believes it but he could have just said "BA is a very talented player and we want to explore all options." He didn't need to go on this whole explanation on "trying to work things out" when it's just a blatant lie. It's like when a politician lies explaining it as just "lip service and being professional"

You're mixing your own feelings into this, once you can stop doing that. This will be more clear to you.

lol wut? My gripe (which I'm not even that mad about) is how dumb, obvious, and unnecessary that lie was. He doesn't have to say the way it is but he doesn't have to go out of his way to make such statements an obvious front. Idk for me it's just not that great of a look and unnecessary

I think I see what you're saying put on a front like we might keep him (which no one believes and creates more of a circus) so that a team might fold and give us a 7th.

I honestly don't care that much I just said that's a blatant unnecessary lie and 5 of you spammed me on how it's posturing
