If he can play and wants to earn money here, fine. He played like ass before he got hurt so its going to be a tough contract to write.

f**k that. When people show you who they are you should believe them.
You have to wonder what kind of player he would be if he came back to the Niners this year. After all the bad blood and press his attitude could be really bad. Would you even want a guy on the team that is likely to start complaining or causing some issues during the season.

It would create a toxic environment. He basically quit on the team, kinda like that other asshat LB that left at half-time and didn't want to come back out. You get rid of players like that. They just want to see if they can get any value out of trading him instead of downright cutting him.

That doesn't make anyone two faced.. BA is still under contract and still a 49er. It's being professional

Professional would be to cut him and get rid of the circus rather than hold him ransom for a 7th round pick, even then who would trade with that contract attached?

Like Kyle just said, why make it easy for another team looking to improve. This isn't a charity.

What if he says "I'm seeing a therapist. I'm on Lexapro or some other medication like that. I've gotten rid of the bad influences in my life. I have soft nipples. I'm ready to play." That's what it would take for me

How does the contract actually work? Wasn't it voided? He is still under contract with us, but he's making no money? If another team picks him up, they would have to redo his contract from scratch and not take on that 30mil? This situation is so weird

Ya there's no way he's coming back. Jed is just keeping it professional and probably hoping that they can get even a 7th round pick.

Professional business man would never let a talented player walk without some sort of compensation. Especially if you know a team is out there just willing to sign him when he gets axed. Patience. Its not hurting anyone keeping him on the team except for the Commander fans and the "guys" who think the Niners are being mean.
I'm not emotionally invested in him being on the roster or not on the roster.

But for everyone toeing the "company line" of why let another team improve themselves for free, I would just say with the whole ghosting and incommunicado thing I haven't seen where anyone in the organization even knows if he's healthy and remotely ready to play football anytime this year. There's a rumor out there that he did next to nothing to rehab and has an arthritic knee.

Personally I could see his career being over and even if it isn't I think odds are he never comes close to being a 1000 yard WR again. Someone went to school with him or knew someone who did and said BA was a great athlete who dominated in football, basketball, etc. But he was the kid anytime things didn't go his way he wanted to take his ball and go home.

He has probably nuked his own career but time will tell.

lol everyone loving the "pettiness" but then says it's professional 😂 I love it personally I'm not complaining, I just don't like Jed saying he hopes to work things out because no way is Aiyuk on the roster week 1 activating 26M on the books and pushes this circus into the season. I'd be shocked if they let him practice with the team

From what I gather his guarantees are voided only this year but if he's on the 53 man roster his 26M salary will be on the books. I have a hard time seeing BA reworking his contract there is just no incentive for him that I see unless he doesn't want to report to camp that bad. If I'm Aiyuk I call the 9ers bluff, report pull an Antonio Brown since my guarantees are already voided and force a cut

Sounds like you don't know what professionalism is

99% of people who are in the NFL are not going to say how they really feel or what the situation really is.

this falls under the GM, Coach and now owner speak
