Exactly, I know fans are upset with him if you take the emotions out - BA is a very good player. Before he slacked an off season and got hurt, we are talking about an all pro player.

would be a shame to not get something for him, but is what it is.

I say we hold him until the last minute we can, so teams fill their roster, and he's forced to take a min prove it deal. If we release him now, we're giving him the best chance possible to get a better deal than 1 year prove it min deal, IMO. Teams will have much less money and roster spots the longer we hold him.

What he did to us, I don't think we should do him any favors. See if we can trade him for something between now and June 1, if not, not biggie, but at least he gets put in a crappy situation like he put us in.

Cut this clown ASAP. Move on If they can get a trade done cool,but I find that highly unlikely. The whole league knows dude is getting cut. And after what he pulled and the injury nobody is trading a 3rd rounder in my opinion. Maybe they got a deal with Peters on the low low.

why? the longer we hold him, the worse market he will be in. It's not hurting us at all to hold him until june 1. We can release him then and put him in a bad situation like he did to the team.

Holding him until June 1 will more than likely guarantee he gets a 1 year vet min deal.

I can understand people wanting to get something for him but you have to wonder what team wuld give up anything other than a late round pick (6th or 7th) for a player they know will be released anyway. If they trade for him they would probably end up paying at tleast part of his big contract. If they sign him as a free agent maybe they get him for less. I don't expect there will be a huge market for him once he's released since he hasn't played in so long. Hill is a better receiver and he's still available after coming of a similar injury.

I don't think so. No side was really happy with the contract negotiation process and after it was over that feeling lingered/lingers.

Then BA gets badly injured by the Chiefs defenders in the middle of the 2024 season.

During the recovery process BA doesn't feel love from the team and decides to entirely cut them out of his rehab process.

The bean counters (which were not happy to begin with) now have a valid reason to nullify previous contract guarantees and they go with it.

BA, who was already butt hurt originally, becomes further butt hurt and just stops showing up.

He has no recourse to do anything via the NFLPA because it was his mistake(s) to begin with. Team puts him on the shelf.

Team plans to cut BA with a June 1st designation, but they also want to see if they can find a trade partner, too, before they cut him.

They are also not interested in continuing to reward bad behavior, so anything they do will be on their own schedule (up until they have to cut him.)

Trade him to Cleveland so he can't sign with Wash

you know you made poor choices when your own camp thinks employers need to protect themselves from your crazy ass.

I'd be curious to know how much he was fined, must be insanely high if he dipped for most of the year.

No one is going to trade for Aiyuk because then they'd be stuck with his contract. He's going to be released and probably going to have to settle for a 1 year prove it deal. BA seems like he has a maturity problem and that is going to dog him for a long time. That, and he quit on his teammates. Not a good look.
