Now I'm in agreement that IF cutting him post June 1 is the move for our own flexibility well then so be it. I'm all about the petty but only up to the point at which it hinders us

We are 100 percent going to take a dead cap hit. *I wouldn't necessarily describe that as hitting our pockets. I think this is an important piece to understand specifically in relation to this situation*

And it's not up to the team to let him 'rot there'. It's up to Aiyuk.

He's going to be released. We'll see if they decide to take the entire cap hit in 2026, or if they spread it over '26-'27 with a post-June 1 designation.

I'm as disappointed as anyone about the way this Aiyuk saga turned out. However we have to at least consider that he has some mental issues. I remember how we all ripped Charles Haley for his behavior and then we found out he was bipolar. Aldon Smith had all kinds of problems with alcoholism.

When players making big money start doing really strange or detructive things it's often a signal that they have some deep emotional issue.

The difference is those guys would at least show up and ball. Ayuik meanwhile is flexing his money buying lambos and pushing 100 mph past Levi this behavior is vindictive
All this talk about the Browns/Commanders wanting Aiyuk...sucks he is in untradeable because of the contract.

There's no guaranteed money left but I don't think the 49ers can trade him because nobody will want to take on whatever his cost is for 2026...seems the only outcome is to cut him and let him sign wherever.
BA was one of my favorite Niners but once again f**k him.

His cost to another team is just $1.5 for 2026. It's get pricey after that but that team could cut or redo is contract to save money if it does or doesn't work out for them.

Yuck and a 4th (2027) for Michael Mayer .. Let's go LYNCH !!! WAKE UP !!

Why would the Raiders do that? It would be one thing other teams initiated the call. But if they aren't, wtf is trading anything for Aiyuk? Why would anyone willingly take on a contract that YOU thought the 49ers shouldn't have taken on when BA's value was at its highest? His value is at its lowest now. Why would a team do that?

they the RAIDAZZ...!! they like them bad boys !!

If that's the case the 49ers should come out publicly and say they aren't going to cut him. They should hold him hostage and force a team to rescue him via a trade.
So do we actually think he's gonna play football again or do you think he's over it now that he's got some cash?

Not sure you're asking me, but I think he'll revive his career. If he keeps up with the same attitude he has with the 9ers, I think his career will be over fast. But it seems like when he's happy, he plays well. And if he plays in Washington with his buddy Jayden Daniels and McClarin he could be a lot more dangerous on the field.

But yah he's done as a 9er so moving on I wish him the best. Stop trolling the 9ers and move on too.

I don't wish him the best. I'm indifferent on him because he won't be a Niner so I can care less. I just want us to get back why we can and find players that want to play and that will make our team better

This is why I rather just spend money on a WR or skill position rather just draft one. When drafted, they act like the most humble nicest person to come outta the draft. Then after their rookie contract, they turn into trolls or the most privileged player in the league. With a free agent, they already have a track record of either playing good with a good attitude or playing good with a me attitude or they just turn out to be humbled. In the end you get what you paid for.

I'd put money on him going to Washington with his BFF. And I'll be rooting against him on the field 100%.
The problem this regime has with drafting WRs is that they can't get anything out of them while they're cheap. Shanny won't play rookie WRs and if they're not a 1st rounder they're gone with just 3 years of production max. Then if they get injured at any point they get setback and now another season is a wash.

If they don't pick up Pearsall's 5th year option he's already half way through his rookie contract and hasn't scored a touchdown.

Without looking up any stats and going off of memory it feels like Aiyuk was only good for two seasons before they had to over pay for him.

Other teams will start rookies and they'll ball out. They'll get three or four years out of them cheap and then can move on. This regime's approach is ass backwards IMO.

I still like Lynch and Shanny but the way they handle WRs is irritating.
