I would not cut him. I would leave him on the left squad reserve list until either he or another team contacts me. The ONLY way he'd play in this league again is if he showed up to HQ and reported

Yup .

Yep. KC will likely be his landing spot if he's willing to take 15m per year for a 2 year deal. If he wants a one year deal he'll probably get 16-18 to play in LV.

Even with zero guaranteed money I'd say no way he's getting that much after both the injury and what's transpired this year. I'd be shocked.

I never thought about this, but it's a good idea. Maybe he'll live stream himself pulling up to work lol.

What a basket case.
Wtf happened to this guy? It's like he's got a case of CTE based on his bizarre behavior and social media activity. I see him flaming out pretty fast and being out the league all together no matter where he goes. Good riddance.

I hope John and Kyle think this way, he quit on the team don't let him have it his way and go to where he wants. If he wants to play again it'll be on the 9ers terms

That's pretty crazy. You can definitely tell he's not faking it and really feels this way. He didn't try to give any coach speak or talk about "we are handling this internally and we have no comment"

I mean this quote from TJ is pretty telling. (Who's been his WR coach_

"Man, to me, it's crazy," Houshmandzadeh said Thursday on 95.7 The Game's "Willard & Dibs." "I'm going to be honest. Number one, there's just no way in hell I fight for every dollar that I want, and now I'm going to give up millions. I don't understand it. They offered you 28 [million], you didn't want 28. You wanted 30 and you were not fine until you received it. You get it, and now you let it go, because you don't want to show up to meetings. You don't want to go to your rehab.

"He's going to get to my age and regret that. I promise you that. He's going to regret it because you never make that money up. So if you're a coach and you're an organization, I want him on my team because he's a good player, but ain't no way in hell I'm paying him millions and millions of dollars. I'm not giving him 20 million, and you just let 30 go. So, I wish him the best. The decisions he's making, I don't believe it's a smart decision.

"But hey, man, some people like the game and some people love it."

So it basically seems like he didn't want to put in the effort to show up and go through another grueling rehab process. He showed up to get his bonuses in the summer and then he probably figured he could take his time to get healthy and collect some easy money. I'm sure at one point Kyle/Lynch got upset with his lack of rehab effort, said something to him and he got all butt hurt.

I don't believe this had anything to do with a change of heart and him wanting to go WAS or wherever, bc I'm sure his agent would've advised him that they won't just release him so he can go wherever he wants, and he has little trade value bc of his contract and him being injured again.

he never had enough heart or cared enough about the game to begin with, clearly
Being as how this is one of the biggest stories in the NFL this year, I'm surprised at how much still remains unknown about the goings on between organisation and player.
I'm surprised there hasn't been more journalistic speculation and investigation.
It makes me wonder if aspects of this story are under some kind of press embargo or something?

Lot's of things go on behind the scenes that the public doesn't see. Even events that get reported don't always tell the entire story.

Remember when Haley was suddenly traded to Dallas. There were stories that came out about why it happened but not all of it was released. We found out later that Haley was bipolar. About a year ago I heard an interview with Carmen Policy. He said that Haley did a lot of things that were never reported.

Teams are like a family. Lots of things happen in families that outsiders aren't aware of.

Yeah man I do wonder if there is some language somewhere in the rules where they can get out of the contract completely without any repercussions. I mean why would they get any kind of dead cap or anything when the 49ers did nothing wrong? I don't know I just have never heard of or seen anything like this and it would be my favorite team that it happens to

Yeah, I don't see how the 9ers should have a cap hit when not only isn't showing up but won't even pick up the phone. Some think we should hold him tell he reports but then we have this looming unpredictable massive cap hit. Even if his contract is voided with no cap hit there's not really anybody in FA

He'll get it. The injury will cost him top tier money, and the attitude will bring him down to low to mid, but he's worth more than Jennings and JJ is looking for 20m. I think the market for JJ is 15m plus or minus 2m. I think Aiyuk will get that on a price it deal maybe incentive laden.

I agree. Crabtree played 6 seasons with the 9ers and underperformed for his draft position, but didn't pull a crazy like Aiyuk.
