Are we able to completely void his contract going forward and recoup the cap hit?

We definitely should be able to but we'll just cut him and take the cap hit
The guy is the biggest loser in Niners history

What this guy could have done this year if he didn't act like a b***h
Between taking up a bunch of cap that could've gone to other key players and ghosting us to create a huge void at WR, f**k this guy.
Void his whole deal and or let him rot.

The NFL's

Reserve/Left Squad list (or Reserve/Did Not Report) is for players who leave the team without permission, allowing the team to retain rights while the player doesn't count on the roster or cap, often used for those considering retirement or who simply quit, with strict rules for reinstatement or transfer, unlike Injury Reserve (IR) for actual injuries or PUP for physically unable to perform players. Once on this list, the player can be placed on Reserve/Retired, waived, or activated if space is made, but generally must be reinstated by their original club if they wish to return to football later.
Key Rules & Procedures
Triggering the List: A player is placed here when they leave the team or stop playing without authorization, distinct from an excused absence or holdout.
Initial 5-Day Window: After placement, the player has 5 days to return; if they do, the team can add them to the roster or cut them.
After 5 Days: The player can be moved to the Reserve/Retired list, activated (if roster space allows), or waived.
Impact on Roster/Cap: Players on this list do not count against the team's 53-man roster limit or salary cap.
Retirement & Reinstatement: If a player decides to retire but is under contract, they can go on Reserve/Retired, and if they ever seek reinstatement, they can only play for their original team, notes this Bolts From The Blue article and this NFL.com article.
Comparison to Other Lists:Injured Reserve (IR): For injured players, allowing return after missing 4+ games (with designated return rules).
PUP (Physically Unable to Perform): For players with injuries preventing them from practicing at camp; they can return after camp or after missing first four games if on Reserve/PUP.
NFI (Non-Football Injury): For rookies injured in college, also missing 4 games if on Reserve/NFI.
In essence: The Reserve/Left Squad is a team's way to manage players who've voluntarily checked out, preventing them from signing with another team while under contract and retaining control of their rights.

It appears to me that we can keep him here into perpetuity without any effect to our salary cap or any roster spots. He can either play for us or he can retire. I would keep him on this list and let him retire himself as a lesson to other players. He is one bright guy and he even has his cheerleaders here on the webzone

I can guarantee you that Saleh does not want this headache on his next team

Quoting this in the Aiyuk thread as I think it's got some good information. And I like the idea of ruining his career by forcing him to stay here and it not effecting our cap.
I bet it all comes down to whether he can physically play. If he can physically play he will physically play for us. Pretty sure about that. Don't think he's got CTE onset or anything like that. If so he's also not playing for anybody.

I'd just hold on to his rights until he's out of the league....but I'm petty like that.

I have a feeling this is up to Jed. I wouldn't blame him
either.

I agree with this level of pettiness

Yep, I would do whatever is in the best interest of the Niners not BA.
