This may have been posted from Niners Wire. Still, if not,
T.J. Houshmanzadeh, a person coach for Brandon Aiyuk, explains how bad Aiyuk may have screwed himself with his antics (
and this was before Aiyuk's antics playing F1 racer past Levi Stadium).
"Man, to me, it's crazy. I'm gonna be honest," Houshmandzadeh said. "No. 1, there's just no way in hell that I fight for every dollar that I want, and then, now I'm gonna give up millions. I don't understand it. They offered you $28 [million per year]. You didn't want $28 [million per year]. You wanted $30 [million per year], and you would not sign until you received it. You get it, and now you let it go because you don't want to show up to meetings. You don't want to go to your rehab. I'll tell you one thing, he's gonna get to my age, and he's going to regret that. I promise you that... because you never make that money up. You're never gonna make that back.
"If you're a coach and you're an organization. I'd want him on my team because he's a good player, but there ain't no way in hell I'm paying him millions and millions of dollars. I'm not giving him $20 million, and you just let $30 million go. I wish him the best in the decisions he's making. I don't believe it's a smart decision. Some people like the game and others love it."
I don't believe Brandon Aiyuk loves
or likes the game. He likes the money, but he doesn't like having to do the work to earn it. He also knows 31 other teams in the NFL are willing to give him a shot to prove he's one of the best wide receivers in the league.
That will be their mistake. I'm just happy Aiyuk won't be a Niner for much longer.
