Hope the FO learned something from this fiasco, but I doubt it.
Aiyuk got $50mill is it? For half a season...
and the F.O. saved $$$ on rest of those years remaining and miss out on an All Pro WR.
They can now spend that money on another Kyle favorite.
?
I guess they learned to not give money to a mentally unstable & financially illiterate individual. Aiyuk did all this to himself.
I don't care if he's an All-Pro every year on another squad (which has a zero percent chance of happening). This dude quit on his teammates and should never be around the 49ers again.

I'm not a player advocate. I'm a 49ers fan. The only reason this league exists is due to being funded by fans and we are largely fans of a particular team and we only generally care about players for the team we root for.
I could care less what Aiyuk does if he ain't doing it for my team. Good bye and I say we hold him until we recoup as much money as we can. Then we keep him until post June 1 unless the team gets the right trade for him
We decrease the future cap hit as much as possible and without regard to what he wants. Cut the phones off and he's now ex comunicado

Why didn't they do this sooner? He was never going to play this season.
I thought he was going to miss the majority of the season due to his injury and getting reacclimated. Then you include the behavioral issues…
I supported BA during the contract negotiations and boy was I was wrong. Should've shipped him to the Steelers like some posters wanted.

They have done this right. Keep him as long as we can fine him and get cash back. He left the team so he should be fined and let it hit his pocket so it goes back into ours. I'd not release him until June1 or the latest possible date that way he can scramble and find whatever team he's gonna find
And I would be constantly looking to see who might be found tampering so we can lay the hammer 🔨 down on said teams

If he can still play.
I can't see anyone putting up a big contract without seeing him play. He is likely to get a deal with big incentives if he stays healthy.
I loved the player but attitude issues were there from his rookie year.
Agreed heavy incentives. I get the feeling he's just getting terrible advice. Nothing he's doing is making sense.

If he thinks going to the commanders is going to fix everything. He's in for a surprise.

Fan in fanatics alright. 🤣
Acting like jealous ex-girlfriends... "I hope this happens to him!!!"
I'm more worried about the team long term. I'm curious if Kyle was 100% behind Aiyuk getting his money taken away (especially Aiyuk did something similar to players like CMC, Bosa, and others). And if he wasn't, how does that mess with his relationship with the front office. Not right now, but when things get tough. If the NFC is as wide open as some feel, and the AFC is also open, and the Super Bowl is at Levi's...
if EVER there was a time to not micromanage (to get back at someone you don't like) this was the season to do it.... or try to fix it (give the money back lol), when the season played out and it showed we have a hell of a chance of finally winning a Super Bowl, at home of all places.
So curious how Kyle is going to handle that.
