No thanks. That's got to have some long-term negative physical and psychological health implications.

I don't hate struggling for my comparatively meager paycheck that much.

A normal healthy Mississippi birdbath is when you fill your mouth w Kool Aid and someone dips their testicles in there

but I'm only giving you half the money for that

Not keen on either version of the Mississippi bird bath. It may be ideal for some in here and I will leave it to them without judgement.

These teams are always full of guys with big egos. It's up to the FO to keep these guys happy. We're a better team with a healthy Aiyuk on the field, so it's in the best interest of the team for the FO to work things out.

We 9-4. We are on the way to 11 or more wins this season so we are NOT gonna do something stupid for one player that has been a bad investment the last two years

The best play is to keep him until post June 1 cuts UNLESS we can find a trade. Otherwise we treat him as he's treated us and clear him medically and watch him accrue fines and recoup some of the money we foolishly paid him

After June 1 he can go and be another teams headache. We will have drafted his replacement and retooled by then

Completely agree with this route. Would it be nice if he came back & helped the team? Yes! If he doesn't want to just clear him & see how much $$$ we can get back or try to void the rest of his contract for not doing his part. Everyone can get a clean break & move on

His money completely off the books will be great, too.

We can attempt to package him with Mac Jones

3 team trade..

Mac Jones and Aiyuk + mid round draft pick to the Vikings.

Justin Jefferson to the Patriots

Kyle Shanahan and Brock Purdy also to the Patriots, for Mike Vrabel and Drake Maye to the 9ers. 😁.......

49ers should try and get a 2nd or 3rd for Ayiuk.

No team is going to trade that and take on his contract after a serious injury. At this point I'd give a 6th if a team took on the rest of his contract

I wouldn't. I guarantee you Ayiuk is pretty much healed and will be the same player as before the injury. He was hoping the 49ers would just release him since he did not fight the voided guaranteed money in 2026. We have rights to him and his value. If we cannot get a 2nd or 3rd for him, make him stay here and play out the rest of his contract. I guarantee you he could play now and at the same level before his injury.

As his knee was shredded, I don't believe that to be the case, but I will eat crow if BA excels for his new team in 2027.

Exactly

And that will be the tale of Django
What I thought was interesting is that in an interview with Brock recently, Brock said "I had nothing to do with this." To me, it sounded sort of insecure on Brock's part and that maybe Brock's contract did have an influence on all of this and Brock deep down knows it.
Is it possible the 49ers hardballed Ayiuk because of how much they paid Brock and were able to get back some $$$ from Ayiuk with the silly excuse that Ayiuk missed rehab appointments?
If so, Ayiuk should have fought the void knowing that if he didn't, the 49ers still would just not release him since they can get draft capital for him.
Ayiuk is healed and the same player as before. If Ayiuk can forgive the 49ers and play here next year great. If not, the 49ers have rights to him and they better not trade him unless they get a 2nd or 3rd.

This organization really gave a $125+ million contract to a guy and then did everything they could to piss him off and make him not want to play for them. Not smart.

What did they do to piss him off

Ask him to wear the same color of shorts as the rest of his teammates for one.

That is unforgiveable, I can see where BA is coming from.

Willing to pay me 125 million AND make me wear specific shorts. The nerve of some teams.

This right here. That specific example alone told you what you needed to know about Aiyuk. Team players follow the team rules.
