Yup

the only thing I'm mad about is we've paid this bum $50M for two years and he's done nothing at all. Could've rolled that over into paying another player. Dudes been a waste of cap space the last two years. Kyle needs to let Paraag handle all contracts and money deals while he sticks to coaching

This regime has made some of the dumbest decisions I have ever seen in my life man. I really am surprised that they've had the success they had despite it. Maybe it's all catching up now though with league leading dead cap hits (and more with Aiyuk) the lack of talent/depth from all the s**t drafts (including the three 1st and 3rd round pick that went for Lance).

And the funny thing is that all but a handful saw this coming from the beginning and never wanted to give him the contract once he went full blown diva; all but the decision makers lol

So the only receivers scheduled to be under contract next year is Ricky, Cowing, Robinson and Watkins?

We can go to the draft and FA bargain bin. We've paid Brock to be the guy so we have to let him be that guy

So in reading this, they owe him no more gtf money after this season. What about dead money in the event of a trade or release? Either way sounds like they just freed up a ton of cap space

Sounded like they'd only lose $7 million. That's a win in my book.

I was thinking about 10mil so anything less than that is a bonus.

No way he'll get anywhere close to that on the open market coming off an injury.

Aiyuk, according to multiple league sources, told NFL Players Association representatives that he did not want to fight the move via an official grievance. That would clear the way for his expected release at season's end."

If this is true… we may not even trade him…

Insane, both parties want out bad enough for it to be like this. He gets a start with a new team, we get out of a bad deal.. If he had been healthy, it wouldn't have been bad though, so it's way too easy to bash it in hindsight.

Dude was an All Pro. Who wouldn't want to keep that level of player. Ultimately.. I don't fault Lynch, it's not like there was a crystal ball where he could know he was going to get hurt.

BA was a great receiver for us, but great in the sense that he was part of a committee that included CMC, Deebo, and Kittle. Didn't really shine when he had his limited opportunity post contract when we really needed him. We (fans) just chalked it up to deconditioning.

He's a good receiver, but no where near the caliber of Lamb, Chase, Jefferson. I don't even think he's better than guys Puca or Smith-Njigba.

Paraag should be negotiating at the direction of the GM and HC. Not by his own football analysis or the owner's. Otherwise drop all pretenses and make Paraag the GM, with all accountability that comes with the position.

Bro just add him to the list of players. The dead cap hits this regime has accumulated is an absolute joke. But we are constantly reminded how much smarter they are than us with FA/Money and their draft decisions………yeah they really looking like geniuses right now lol

Sooooo we're really never seeing BA suit up ever again in a Niners jersey? Simply crazy. Played like 4 dang games after the huge contract. Is he not healed? Is he healed and things went to sh*t anyway?

I hear AJ Brown is out there wanting to be a true #1 again. I know he's being a diva in Philly right now, but he would get #1 targets here for sure. I personally think Hurts is kinda trash and you can only handle being open so much and not getting the ball. I'd go after him if I were Lynch

This already happened last offseason. Mike Silver and Tim Kawakami reported the 49ers' ownership basically made it clear that everyone is staying in their own lane moving forward ie Shanny will be coaching, Paraag will be negotiating and Lynch will managing the roster.

Seriously. The Trey Lance debacle, trading Buckner for Kinlaw, BA and Deebo's contracts shoulda crippled the team. Another testament to the coaching, I suppose. At the same time, they've been very fortunate to hit on later picks like Warner, Kittle and especially Purdy.
I hate how this all went down. Hate it.

I think we're making a business decision and the football decision will take a beating here.

It's hindsight of course but clearly we should've just let him go to Pittsburgh. Will be lucky to get anything for him now and odds are he will wind up somewhere which sucks for us.
He'd show up early and train then leave when the others arrived, and threw away 25 million in guaranteed money away by doing so. Thats just unbelievable he was already there he went out of his way and left 25M on the table to say fu. That's some Antonio Brown level of coo coo. It's not like Ayuik made that much thus far and given his injury concerns he really needed to cash in cause no way a team is going to give him that same contract now
You knew something was going on behind the scenes. There's no way he should be out this long. Numerous others in the league dealt with similar injuries LATER in the year last year and are already back. This isn't because he's not physically ready.

We should have a TON of carryover cap for next year between the Bosa/Warner injury insurance and now the voided portions of Aiyuk's contract.
