Anything they get from Aiyuk next season should be considered a bonus. That's assuming they don't trade him which will be hard since he has that big contract and hasn't played in so long.

Yeah, I don't see any scenario where they could trade him with that contract and health concerns. I was really hopeful he'd at least be playing by now, even if he wasn't back to form.

Again.. Really hard not to wonder if they just don't want him to play this year and risk any issues, and then hope they get him in healthier shape next year.

We know that means his contract doesn't toll and gives us his rights another year.

If Aiyuk wants to play though and feels good enough, I could understand being really bothered.. No one really knows what's going on exactly..

Hey if he gets moved so be it, but imo it's comes off as super petty and pointless.

you gotta pay all that GTD $ and your spending all that time to help him rehab and get back to where he needs to be…we're a team deprived of talent, yet folks want to ship him off because they're butthurt over business.

Dude didn't even have surgery until mid November last yr, his knee was shredded. Let him get as close to 100% as he can this yr and put him on a snap count. The continuous whiny trade him and "leaked" stuff is a poor look on this team imo. Ya'll paid him, get over it.

Time to get him where he needs to be and go out and ball…now if that's never gonna be a possibility (him being 100%), cut him and be done with it next year

Really? I understand a player holding out on their own the contract rolls over but does the same apply with an injury?
Folks forgetting that BA shredded his knee (or had it shredded for him by Chiefs defenders) and that in the immediate aftermath of the injury it was thought that BA would miss the entirety of the 2025 season. All these articles are b******t same as all of the articles during the contract fiasco were complete b******t. The bad contract is a separate issue from him being physically unable to play. It's possible he ends up like that RB we drafted with the shredded knee who never saw the field, except in BA's case it's never will see the field again. But maybe he does see the field again, that does not mean we will ever see him be anything close to what he was in 2023. How were or are we ever going to trade BA with a shredded knee and that albatross of a contract?

This sounds like another way to piss off BA lol.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that's true.

He'd have to stay on PUP all year. It was misreported a few weeks back that Aiyuk was 14 months out in his recovery. I read the clarification today stating what you said above, he barely just hit a year from surgery. I don't think he'll be able to have that window opened any sooner than the playoffs now, if we make it.

What the heck is this about though? https://x.com/mattbarrows/status/1992017680371720571?t=_uTk8wMiKIeI2DFqlnBpmQ&s=19

There's no possible way we can trade or cut him with that salary number, so I can't imagine this being close to true.

Cutting him after this season is a $56M dead cap hit… I don't see it unless a team is willing to trade for him

I just looked up the trade numbers. We must've put some special language in that contract. We can't cut him (42 million cap hit) but we can trade him and only be out $7 million. That's insane.

I liked Aiyuk a lot but if they can find a buyer, go for it.

This has what it's 'felt' like since last year. That contract was obviously be a big point of contention behind closed doors.
