If you want to talk about players you want to move on from don't go after the ones who their teammates want to stay, go after the ones their teammates can't wait for them to be gone.

Can you elaborate? I didn't get to see Rice but from my understanding the difference between Rice being a diva and TO was Rice strived for excellence and held everyone around him to the same standard yeah he got pissed when we lost not to say TO didn't but he made a spectacle out of himself and had such a bad reputation inside the locker room he was snubbed a 1st ballot. Saying Rice didn't have a instagram is weak sauce he was interviewed constantly and by all accounts was a consummate professional. Only things I can think of where he caused a fuss was the trading of Joe Montana and retiring because the broncos wouldn't start him at 43 years old

Jerry was ABSOLUTELY a diva at the beginning. It's just that most of that media doesn't exist on the internet it was so long ago. Rice was pissed that he didn't get the media attention Joe got.

I think there is little point in the discussion about Aiyuk since it's just social media. If he's healthy and doesn't earn the money then the team will move him on.

He's turning into a Diva. Like Dee_VAH Samuel. A lot of these WR's do that. I wish we didn't pay him that huge salary and guaranteed money. A WR is rarely worth the big cap hit. You want a Jerry Rice type for a huge contract. We haven't had one since the guy himself. We have had some good ones. But not that good. The big problem obviously is the terrible injury. Nobody knows if he will be the same or his career will be shorter. His Diva ways you sort of just have to deal with. That's not even a big issue. Most WR's have that. It's a feature of WR very often.

Yup, Jerry's teammates nicknamed him "Fifi" lol. He absolutely was pissed that Joe was getting all the credit. Is what it is. He was a perfectionist and worked harder than anyone else and wanted some recognition.

it's not like BA hasn't worked his ass off or has some drama with his teammates.

I'd bet money if our fans would stop being whinny fickle people directing comments towards BA, he wouldn't be posting retaliatory posts telling certain folks to STFU. You can't run around saying how much you hate fires, when you're the one stoking them.

I wondered at the time why they were calling him Fifi. Roger Craig said it was because of his haircut as a rookie. He quickly impressed his teammates, but he struggled with fans being hard on him for drops. Later in life he admitted that he lashed out at fans and had severe confidence issues that he eventually got over with the help of teammates and coaches who he said were consistently supportive at the time.

A lot of great players have stuggled with fan interactions. Klay Thompson struggled with it and his reaction was to withdraw and just be private. Draymond Green's reaction is always to attack. None of that makes them worse as players or teammates.

Buddy, you've come off as emotional and entitled over BA for over a year…most of it has nothing to do with him on the field.

Jerry Rice got SB MVP over the winning quarterback Montana in SB XXIII. How often does that happen? That was his fourth year in the league. That's recognition.

At the end of his career, he was asked who was his favorite quarterback. He's caught more touchdowns from Steve Young than Joe Montana, but nope, it was still Montana.

I do remember Jerry teasing retirement immediately after a SB win, while obviously he never quit until he wasn't allowed off the bench many years later.

Someone needs to refresh my memory how he resented Montana's fame and felt insufficiently recognized.
