No, I'm not naive to think someone working out on their own is being in game shape. Did I say he was in game shape? No. Are you reading the conversations going on and not seeing people claiming he came into the season out of shape? That he was fat? Someone even asked if they were mistaking Aiyuk for Deebo...

Bro, you are here talking about him leaking video of himself when there were clips on IG from kids watching him practice at local fields. Who is really full of themselves here?

We know you care just about the team. You have to actually make up s**t and omit facts to defend them. If you want to blame anyone for Aiyuk not being ready to go at the start of the season, the blame starts with Paraag for not getting the contract done sooner. There was no reason for him to ghost Aiyuk for 2 whole months during the negotiation. The blame also goes onto Lynch for not trading him. Paraag never valued him at the market rate before August and told Lynch to trade him pre-draft. Five teams were interested then in acquiring Aiyuk but Lynch got greedy with his ask. Ultimately, Lynch and Kyle planned the roster around Aiyuk being a part of it in 2024 and going forward. Time forced Paraag to get on board with that decision.

Can you show me where the 49ers didnt talk to him or his agent for 2 months. I didn't know that.

But the blame for a player not showing up in shape should always fall on the player. Also i think you are giving Paraag way too much power here. The GM and the owner should be dictating how much they are willing to spend on a player. I can't imagine Lynch or York telling Paraag to get the deal done and him not doing it until when he did. That's a collective decision. They probably had a # they wanted to pay which obviously he wouldn't accept and neither bulged until the last minute. Sounds like a trade was even in place until maybe Kyle stepped in (rumor)

Anyways the blame game is dumb. It takes two to tango.

IMO i put more of the blame on Aiyuk for the holdout and not showing up in shape (if thats true i dunno) but when a player gets injured i'm not blaming anyone thats just football.

Garafolo reported it around the time Aiyuk demanded a trade in late July. I should also note, the reporting at that time also had the 49ers still crying about the Bosa deal and how Bosa was able to leverage his way into the contract he got. They didn't want the Aiyuk negotiations to go the same way. And the 49ers really tried to pressure Aiyuk into caving to their demands. They even went as far as issuing Aiyuk the 5-day warning letter that he would be put on the NFI/DNR list.

There is a difference between being "out of shape, "in shape", and "in game shape". Aiyuk was not "in game shape". Nobody is playing a non-qb skill position and joining a team "in game shape". They can be "in shape" and still take a couple weeks to get into "game shape".

Yes, the blame game is dumb. Yes, it takes two to tango or whatever idiomatic expression you want to invoke. The problem, as you highlight in your final statement, is that the blame falls at the feet of Aiyuk in these conversations. It has to constantly be pointed out that the team dragged out the negotiation and led to the situation you are complaining about. He's not in "game shape" because Paraag can't get deals done out of stubbornness/ego. You can go back and look at how negotiations went down with Trent (twice), Bosa, Deebo, Kittle, Warner, Gould. Even CMC held out and got paid. The only major contract negotiation win Paraag has pulled off is the Lenoir deal.

First paragraph seems like bs

Aiyuk is a good player and his value is at its lowest right now. What we don't know is the extent to which the 49ers have been given orders to cut its spending.

I agree with that. Teams should always listen(doesn't hurt to listen) just don't want them to sell the guy for pennies on the dollar.

I always think back to AJ Brown getting traded from the Titans. How are they looking at WR now? We know Eagles aren't winning anything without Brown.

Come again.....the Eagles won the SB because of AJ Brown......

He was a big reason they got there and he had a big hand in them winning as well. He showed us what a number one WR looks like. When you get to the Super Bowlmyouve got to be able to best man coverage and make plays with regularity and be able to dictate to defenses

The bold was in reference to Tennessee Tittititanics

"We know Eagles aren't winning without Brown"

I believe the talks were that there was some inflammation and the surgery couldn't go on until the inflammation was reduced... there may have been confusion with the reduction and healing lingo since it's nearly impossible to heal in a month with or w/out surgery
Well Schefter just reported the obvious he won't be ready till mid season and is only worth a 4th atm. It's whatever cut the loss now or see if he can bounce back

Injury sucks. Just have to wait for him to bounce back but that won't be until 2026 imo.

What I heard as well, then the surgery ended up taking place in November after swelling went down and he was ready . OK has been saying the MCL has been healed since November, so have asked at least 4 times where he saw this, because I have not seen it anywhere

The Eagles won the SB because they had, iirc, one injury to a starter all season. Give us that sort of record and there are several seasons of late where we would be taking home the Lombardi.

Why didn't SF just stick to a number and say 'this is our best and final offer, take it or we trade, that simple'? We could have gotten the Steelers #2 (pick 50) and money to have kept Greenlaw possibly. What a horrible decision to keep him when we knew it was not smart and good business.
