Honestly my biggest problem with BA is the contract. He's obviously very good but on a team with so many high end players along so many other needs, I just hate paying WR's that kind of dough. I mean, just look at the jaw-dropping list of available WR's this year (and every year for that matter). Unless your name is Jefferson or Chase, I feel that wideouts are becoming like RB's in terms of being easily replaceable.

They figure they can take the hit this year and roll out Pearsall Jennings Cowing Kittle CMC Mason and with 12 picks find some more receiving talent and in FA and be just fine and get those big contracts off the books IF Brock is what they think he is
This move would teach guys going forward not to F around with this FO
Those guys are better than given credit but with Aiyuk there is a chance of being top 5, moreso in 2026. Furthermore it seems fans who are pro trade are upset like its still July/August 2024. It's like the significant other that gets mad over old stuff or is looking for things to be upset about.
Aiyuk has always been a net positive for this offense, even this year.. We aren't getting better by trading him and as much as I love Brock, he isn't carrying this team without elite play makers. We would be trading Aiyuk and hoping to draft someone as good instead of using our picks to build up our trenches. I hope we fill holes, not create them.
FInally! Someone who gets it. Our 11 or 12 picks can bring us back quickly. I trust this FO to do what's best for team now and going forward.

Anything can happen. Marchand just got traded to the Panthers who he tried to fight the entire team at one point.

That's why I want to clear him even if the return isn't that great. I'd move for a 3rd or 4th to clear the money. Few WR's are worth that money.
If Brock is the guy the team describes him as then he should be able to elevate others and work with role players.
Kittle, Jennings, Pearsall plus 1-2 veterans and 1-2 draft picks done well is still a great WR room

The only way I would want to trade Aiyuk is if we got Davante Adams in FA.

It sucks for BA, the team and us fans. He left a sour taste then gets hurt and won't be back for the start of the season. Nothing will cure the current sentiment other than BA performing at a level to justify his contract. The man can't do that until he is healthy… this will drag on for a while. Trading him and absorbing another huge cap f**k up is not an option….unless we find a team willing to get fleeced.

Very true. I think those bad feelings are driving a lot of the trade him talk. Sadly this will linger until like 2026 unless Aiyuk not only comes back next season but also looks great in the 8 games or so.

I would take a 3rd rounder for him.

My biggest problem isn't the contract. He got paid and was still acting childish, the wrong practice uniform may seem small but no one's above the rules and he just hasn't matured. Wish we moved on

Is it true the niners have an out to only take on an 8 million dead cap hit if he's traded before April 1st? I read that somewhere but I wasn't sure if it was BS or not.

Yes that's the only reason the trade is being talked about.
Also pretty much indicates if we don't trade him by then he's not being moved this year.
