But some other people on this thread may find it interesting that IF they decide to trade Aiyuk that it has to happen before April 1st for the reasons I already wrote.

How are you getting bullied? I'm simply talking about Lombardi's point being stupid. We understand that getting rid of Aiyuk would save money but you're getting rid of a good player.
Of course we all realize it would save money or atleast I would hope so but I certainly don't see how laying out the specifics is stupid.

I was more referring to Lombardi playing both sides. To me if the trade happens it's a major fail by the 49ers and him trying to paint it as a good move is why I think it's stupid.

We understand there are cap savings in moving off a big contract but the whole thing is you're losing a player you felt was good enough to earn that deal. Bad business IMO but David can't admit that when it happens so he has to play the other side so he can pretend it was a smart thing to do IF it happens.
it's not a major fail as we could move the ball without him and half assed deebo still

We still don't know how BA will do and he could miss part of the season.. where he doesn't get any camp again. we know how that went.

With BA being an unknown, We will go into the season with what we had most of the season. JJ, Ricky, Conley/Cowing.

The trade could help us. we free up close to 50m cap/dead cap space with BA/Deebo gone next year and the years after. The extra draft pick this year can be used to trade for more OL or be included in a move up package in the draft.. or we stay and pray for BA

I gotta disagree. You sign the guy after a tough negotiation and then move him a year later? The injury sucks but guys get hurt playing this sport, not all of them get moved.

We signed him for a reason. There was plenty of bad blood that selling him off last offseason could've made sense. Now if it happens then it's a big fail IMO and painting it as anything other than that is disingenuous IMO.

It doesn't mean trading Aiyuk will doom the team to failure but it's a step back and this is not the draft you want to go into looking to fill multiple WR spots. Especially when you don't have a legit X on the team.
I wasn't aware the Niners were in a "financial situation"

Looks good to me maybe add a receiver in the 3r round. Adams would be an upgrade over deboo imo.

A few posters have been saying that the Yorks aren't happy about all these big contracts. Looks like they may be on to something

It's been a report out there for a while. Like I said, it's easy to be upset about the contracts when the result is 6-11.

As soon as Jed starts to micro manage the coaches again and telling them how to build the roster the window we've talked about slams shut.

I mean those contracts aren't getting approved without the owners blessing. I saw somewhere that Jed is trying to buy another scoccer team (Rangers FC)

Financial situation my ass.

Yeah I really don't wanna hear this crap and it's a bad look for Jed, thought we were past this.

One thing to regret spending all that cash and seeing a 6-11 S show of a season for it. It's another thing to pretend you don't have money to pay players and push good talent out the door.

Saints have been making moves with the least cap space in the league for years. You can make moves and considering the SB is going to be at Levis this season it would be a wise investment for Jed to ensure we can field a team that can make a run.

Right now all I see is the team negotiating with Brock in the media. Trading Aiyuk would be a terrible move because you're never going to get proper value for him. Making moves like this hurts the team.

Even Cooper instead of Tae would be a great fit just depending on price obviously
Technically everyone is dealing with a financial situation so to word it like that really isn't a lie. Bill Gates has a financial situation. A really good one at that. But I think Lynch could be open to trading just about anyone if the price is right which is probably the right way to operate. So is he listening to trade offers on BA? Yeah probably but it would take a lot to move him.
Jeebus, everyone losing their minds in here…

Does anyone remember back in the Harbaugh era when he stated "Hell, anyone's tradable. If I got offered 2 1st round picks for Staley I'd probably trade him too"?

It's the business, you always listen to offers, doesn't mean you have to take it. I mean, if someone came up and offered a 1st and a 3rd for Aiyuk I wouldn't be mad if the Niners took it and rebuilt more in the draft. Then could sign Davante Adams as a piece to fill in next 2-3 years so we don't fall off too badly.

Or, we keep Aiyuk as a key team player, work with him to help heal up, and sign Adams for 1-2 years to help ease Aiyuk's return. Either way, the team stays fluid to the situation around them to keep staying relevant and in the hunt.

At this point, even Purdy may be available of offered the right package, though probably 2 1st and a player at minimum would require, and for pick number 262 that'd be a killer return, but doesn't mean the team would.

Always keep the phone on in case the crazy deal comes along (just ask Dallas with the Hershel Walker trade, or the Lakers with the Luka trade)
