Exactly what went through my head. He's like two years away from even playing again. And even then, not gonna be the same guy.

wow just wow

i think he'll be fine. you have the best docs. acl is usually about a 9-12 month. the other stuff heals while you are healing the acl. with any luck he may be ready to start next season.

I'm sure you thought the same about Bowman. How'd that work out?

i don't see any comparison. first off bow spent a career trucking over ppl. like Willis. it's a ton of contact. 2nd just a quick google, and he suffered his major injury in 2014. the acl, mcl. he was back in 2015. he led the nfl in tackles, and made the PB. worked out good i guess.
ACL, MCL and other damage. Long road back to 2025 season. See in 2026 with a slower version that can't cut as well. $120 million for this. Wow. This is the the most unlucky team I've ever seen. Plus our 1st round pick gets shot going shopping. Unbelievable.

We couldve easily had him play on the 5th year option.

Too many times with these players holding out they act like they have the power when injuries like this could happen.
Unbelievably bad luck. I have a hard time believing he'll ever be the same. And now we're stuck with that contract. We are cursed. No other way to put it.

Bowman destroyed his knee completely and just as he recovered from that, he tore his Achilles. He had some of the worst injury luck imaginable.

Really no need to jump to conclusions and automatically assume the worst.

That sometimes happens because you put more pressure on other joints to compensate for the injury. Over compensating due to the hurt joint. By putting unnatural more pressure on the others near it.

Man, I was watching some Reuben Foster stuff yesterday, and I totally forgot Bowman was still here when this regime drafted Reuben. The poor guy was so stiff and couldn't change direction after the injury. He was a shell of his former self.

BA's position is even more demanding on his knees. I fear he'll never be close to the same player again.

Bowman was an All Pro after his knee injury. He was still one of the best LBs in football after coming back from it. It was the torn Achilles in 2016 that ended his career really.

Which is what Greenlaw just had.

the timing is essential. Greenlaw went down in the SB. so he's still out. BA went down in Oct. if you start the 9-12 month recovery from now, you can make it back by week 1 maybe. or maybe a 4 game IR, then back. (4 games to start next year i mean)

Yea this is gonna hurt both sides for a very long time. For BA this is career ending. Not in the sense he can't or won't play, but there's no way he comes back from this as a top receiver. He's going to be the number 3 guy for any team. He's not the biggest or tallest out there, so his speed and ability to break away were his biggest assets. Now with a bum knee he will be slow.

For us, we're on the hook for his contract over the next 3 years. Money that can't be spent on another asset.

Should have cut ties with him really. He held out of TC, was basically catching passes from a tree, and was not on game shape. Did pretty much nothing to contribute, and prevented us from getting a good return on a potential trade.

Lesson for this team. Don't cave in to these divas. unless they demonstrate spectacular ability like Bosa or Warner, and are young, get rid of them. Trent should been sent packing as well…

The achilles finished him off, but he was already falling off a cliff in 2015 defending the pass. I remember thinking that he basically earned that all-pro based on his name and collecting a ton of tackles on an awful defense with no talent.

"The 49er was actually still very good against the run in 2015; he led all linebackers in both tackles and stops by a significant margin, but his play fell away in coverage, where he allowed 90.3 percent of passes thrown his way to be caught and a passer rating of 110.9 when targeted. Bowman at his best was a complete linebacker, but the player of 2015 was far more one-dimensional. If he rediscovers the rest of his play this year, he will jump back onto the list."

yeah and this is Bowman. he was built like a truck and was slamming into ppl all game. meanwhile BA is 26 and a WR. i don't think we can just assume the same outcome on two different guys.

This is definitely a big problem now. What a mess.

That what i remembered. Having a ton of tackles on a depleted defense gave him that all-pro nod.
Absolutely horrific injury. I don't think he plays again until 2026. The severity is about as bad as it gets.

I hate that this happened to him. I hope he can recover and still have a long career.

Yeah.. I know he's financially secure, but he has a kid. He won't be able to do any physical activities with his family for a long time.
