From a WR perspective, I don't get what is to like about Steelers for Aiyuk.

You got Wilson a washed up QB who is no longer mobile or a RB playing QB in Fields

Not to mention the bad offensive line. One of, if not the worst situations for a WR.

Yeah the only thing the Steelers have going for them is a good defense and solid coaching. That O is a sh!t show and their o coordinator is a joke.

it's just such a strange situation to want.

tbh I'd actually choose the patriots over the three - they're a well ran organization. The Browns have a good squad but their ownership isn't the best. Pitt has really good ownership but are stuck in mediocrity cause they'll win enough to keep themselves out of competition for a top qb. Unless they get lucky like we did

Honestly can't believe that Aiyuk is serious about going there lmao. This is why I never bought into him leaving. He's just trying to drive up the price.

They've played their starters multiple quarters this preseason.

Also does a good job explaining the game to casuals. Really proves that even PS players are a different breed than regular Joe's.

That stat is pretty ridiculous. Preseason is early football, but sometimes you can tell which teams will be trash. I remember a while back the jets with Mark sanchez did not score a single td in the preseason. I was young so I thought it was no big deal, I believe that was the same year as the butt fumble.

Tbh they have a shot of being bad enough to get a top 5 pick even with BA. So if we managed to snap a couple of firsts from them we could draft some serious talent while BA complains about bad qb play lmfao.

Once again - the Steelers were brought in ONLY to negotiate the deal. They were never getting Aiyuk. That was not an option.

People will say "preseason doesn't matter" and to some degree they are right.

But I'm of the thought that looking great in preseason doesn't mean too much, but you don't want to look inept. Vanilla or not, if you can't execute basic plays how can you execute complicated plays?

I'll admit I haven't read much of this thread, but I have heard/read some of the media content. Right now, I've got nothing better to do, so just for sag I'll put in my 2cents:
This Aiyuk hype is way overblown. He's very good, but not all that; definitely not top ten. The 49ers will overpay him. More for public relations reasons and knock-on effect than talent or merit. He's only in this position to posture because of Brock Purdy, who could make a bunch of other less fortunate receivers look just as good. The FO knows it. The players know it.
I kinda wish Aiyuk would go somewhere else. Niners wouldn't miss a beat; they've got a very good WR roster without him. And they'd save a bunch of salary cap space to pay for more necessary talent.

It would not wonder me if Aiyuk holds out into the regular season, then starts whining on social media how the niners are evil and fining him.

Ahould he not and nit be productive, he'll be in Shanahan's dog house and it won't be pretty.

From what you hear in the media and what the 9ers have offered and caved in on it seems to me Aiyuk is being unreasonable. Both sides should have to cave a bit on what they fully want

He might sign today after watching the Steelers play. They are definitely leaning on that Steelers D to keep them in a game.
