Helps when he had a wife who's worth over $500 million.
He was more concerned about having good players around him and competing for championships. Him and the patriots had an agreement on his contract. Whatever money he saved the team would be put back into other contracts.

Yeah this is dragging as if we're up to something via trade.

Or there wasn't one last thing and reports from Twitter shouldn't be trusted.

And he's from an upper middle class family and doesn't have to take care of his folks, siblings, extended fam etc…

Brady was filthy rich and making a ton OFF the field. I highly doubt he was depending on his wife for anything. He's openly talked about, even recently, how doing what you can to have a winning team around you leads to making more money in the long run.

the more successful you are on the field - the more marketable you are off of it.

brock has that super clean cut rep. So he's super marketable if he can sustain his success on the field.

The Purdy narrative will be interesting next year. He does not have money at the top of his Most Important list. I would not be surprised if he went the Brady route to spread more money around the roster.

Of course, agents and other players hate when that happens.

Yeah, I'm intrigued by what he does cause this team is in an odd position where they've paid so many guys that they'll inevitably have to start making tough decisions (resigning players wise) once they pay him. There is a good chance we can't resign guys like Demo/Ward etc.

it wouldn't surprise me if he took a team friendly deal, where he is still filthy rich - but not as much as he could get. Like a 5-10M cut.

it also wouldn't surprise me if he didn't. Whatever happens, happens. Can't blame him if he doesn't - hopefully we win a SB this year. That would be the best bargaining chip going into negotiations for him. lol

Yeah but it doesn't raise the other boats when the GOAT doesn't paid top dollar.

a lesson BA could learn, especially with his hometown team.

Man eff all those other boats. I always hope opposing teams overpay all their guys. Lol

If a player isn't concerned about the team and it's salary cap situation when they're demanding as much money as possible - they shouldn't be concerned about other players money either.

like Steph Curry said "never count another man's money".

f**k that, he's not even asking to be the highest paid WR. y'all are just butthurt that negotiations are taking so long.

as long as we resign BA - this will be accurate. Or get someone like Adams but I think the resigning is going to happen at this point.

I actually didn't mean to post that in this thread. Lol I meant it for the Brock thread. I'm not butthurt about BAs situation - It's just been tiring and I hope it's over soon. Lol

No worries, I do see it come from other fans though. It just annoys me when they want certain players to not make what they are worth. If BA had signed whatever deal he is going to make 3 weeks ago, they wouldn't be whining. Negotiations can get tiresome, I get it.

It's about the union. Hard for other players to negotiate for a big contract when a star sets the ceiling low enough for Frodo. I don't think this will be an issue with Purdy cause I don't think he will reset the market.
