In the era of greed and "chasing the bag", I just want to shoutout Tom Brady.

Since 2011 (as far back as Spotrac goes), Tom Brady was NEVER the highest paid QB. He was only in the top-five of QBs TWICE from 2011-2022.
Never worried about "being the highest paid" or constantly…

Helps when he had a wife who's worth over $500 million.

And he's from an upper middle class family and doesn't have to take care of his folks, siblings, extended fam etc…

The Purdy narrative will be interesting next year. He does not have money at the top of his Most Important list. I would not be surprised if he went the Brady route to spread more money around the roster.
Of course, agents and other players hate when that happens.

Why to folks keep saying this?? Brady and his wife's combined income was Taylor Swift level at $1b.
He did not sacrifice any salary until the end of his career when he was playing like a kid in the backyard as to not get bored in retirement. He had more money than God.
Brock is not worth $1b. He will want fair market value. You need to look past his ole shucks looks and not be surprised when the time comes that it may be a record.

Yup. I wouldn't be surprised if he's like "I wouldn't mind $40M a year" and then the NFLPA goes irate over it and convinces him to get $60M instead…

He had a bunch of money donated to TB12 which is even better than salary.
