If I was the Steelers I'd put a deadline on this....they should say the offer stands up to midnight August 14th, otherwise it is revoked. I think Aiyuk is an above average receiver, but he also seems to be a head-case. Stay, go, I don't really care much anymore.

Why would the team trying to get an AP WR put a deadline on possibly receiving him lol

Because it appears that he is just using them to force the 49ers to give him what he wants. He wanted to be traded, but then didn't want to go to the Browns or the Patriots, but supposedly said he wanted to go to the Steelers. Both front offices seem to have come to a mutual agreement, but now he pivots yet again. He is either a basket-case, or he is using the "trade me" tactic to try and force the Niners to give him what he wants and never had any intention of being traded.

So the Steelers should put a deadline to help a competitor.

It might not be helping us at all though....we'd be right back where we were before his trade request.....stuck with a disgruntled diva still holding out.

Only this time we granted his wish to seek a trade, and he has turned down 2 already and may well turn down a third....even though he supposedly said he "wanted" to be traded to the Steelers. He appears to be stringing the Steelers along. Seriously, at some point the Steelers should just say F/U to Aiyuk. This reminds me of asking the pretty girl to the prom....and she seems interested for weeks, strings you along, but won't actually say yes. At some point you just have to move on.
I don't think he's disgruntled. He showed up to practice, right? I think he has a clear idea of what the world thinks of his value. The fact that he didn't jump at NE's offer shows he knows what being a 49er is worth to him.

We've waited this long, we can wait a few more days.
He's going to resign, I'm not even worried about it anymore. The way he was at practice and all that today, they've mended things and are working through the final details.

no worries here. I just hope he can get out on the field asap. The team can use the boost and get BA to shake off the rust with Brock Montana.

But the holdup from the Steelers POV is the 9ers, not Aiyuk.

So why would the Steelers put a deadline on Aiyuk?

Why would the 9ers care about a deadline that only helps them if it lapses?

This make no sense.

How exactly is it "helping" the Niners if the offer lapses....we'd be back to square one.....stuck with an unhappy holdout. I'm not seeing how that helps us.....that's the position that we were in several weeks ago.

Let's hope so....

Wait so fans here are now thinking of the opinion that Aiyuk won't be traded for peanuts? Quite the change of pace over a span of 36 hours

What the hell is happening?😳

Reported at the practice facility today, but not practicing per KNBR.

Nothing has frickin changed. We all got excited when he first reported to camp. Since then, its been the same s**t different day.

I have a source that's telling me there could be a resolution to all this soon. But if not soon, then after that.

My source says a decision is gonna be reached immediately, if not sooner.

Link?

Not at liberty to divulge my source, but I'll say he has three names. The first and last letter of his names are TO (coincidence huh).
I can't believe anyone on here is actually defending this guy. I want him back but the clown behavior he's shown has been something crazy.
