He still made a few plays but they only scored 3 points in the 2nd half. I watched him miss seeing 10 or 11 open guys down field when he was kept in the pocket and forced to go through his progressions. He's human.

The only reason the Pats lost is because they had NO ONE to throw the football to and their O-line was trash. I almost felt bad for brady, if I didn't hate him, but Spags came with so many cover-0 blitzes because he didn't fear anyone catching the ball for NE. We've beat the cover-0 all year long. Teams have stopped trying it because we beat every single time.

You just made feel much better about the SB with this post

I concur. Thanks Jonny D

So can we beat these guys or not? Everybody in the whole media is saying Chiefs, Chiefs, Chiefs. And Mahomes, Mahomes, Mahomes. I like our team a lot. But I'm a bit worried too. Should we be? I go over to Seahawks.net and they say "congratulations on being the best in the NFC." "But prepare for a loss."

What do you guys think? Everybody is picking against us. Media, sports media talk shows, message boards, other teams fan forums. I think like 99% of the world I see guarantees us a loss.

People like to side with the flashy. The 49ers have been the most consistent team all year and a top offense and defense to boot. Mahomes will make some plays but we've faced better and beat better. We have to beat their QB. They have to beat our team.

In some sense I think we are the better overall team. But they do have an extraordinary QB. He is very dangerous. Hopefully we can slow him down enough to win.

I didn't know people from the midwest were retarded.

LMFAO!! no damn way anyone can think that
Pressure Mahomes and make him as uncomfortable as possible all throughout the game. Contain him as much as possible on off-script plays. Do what you do on D and don't give up big plays.

On offense, the Chiefs' D can definitely be exploited. Keep them off balance with a balanced attack - I see the running game being very effective vs. their D and I also see Garoppolo making some big-time plays & showing the playmaking abilities he has.

Continue the good ST play.

Combine the above with Shanahan + his coaches and I like the Niners' chances.

Jeez we are far superior to the Titans. They are a very 1 dimensional offense. With no movement to boot. Shanahan moves stuff all over. Plus our defense is far better I would say.

I remember Marino hardly being touched in the playoff games leading to the '84 super bowl. When Dwaine, Johnson, Fred and Manu kept hitting him and sacking him, he got so pissed at his OLine. It bothered him the entire second half that his OLine wasn't able to keep the 49er pass rush away from him. I think he even yelled at his OLine for sucking, or something like that.

Same with Brady, when Aldon hit him in Foxborough Brady's game kind of changed and we came away with a win in Foxborough. So I agree with Keena, if we can get a good hit on Mahomes, he'll be come ordinary -- just like Aaron was very ordinary in the first half, and then the 49ers D let him off the hook in the second half, he became super man on our defense and scored 20 points.

Umm, that's now what I remember. I remember Aldon getting a hit early and us building a huge lead, only to hang on for dear life, and saved by a kick return and Crab's catch and run TD. The game goes on and I don't think we win.
I'm guessing it will be easier for us to make it tough on Mahomes than for them to stop our running game.
Mahomes gonna choke like all of Andy Reid's QBs.

This is where I'm at. I think it'll be a tough game. I hope I'm wrong and the 49ers control the game from start to finish.

I would be curious to see the Chiefs vs. Chargers games this year. Both were Chiefs victories but:

Game 1: 24-17
Mahomes: 19-32, 182 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT
Mahomes: 5 CAR, 59 YDS

Game 2: 31-21
Mahomes: 16-25, 174 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT
Williams: 12 CAR, 124 YDS, 2 TD
Mahomes 7 CAR, 21 YDS

Curious, but why LAC? They're not like us, other than the Bosa bros...

LOL why wouldn't you want to understand how they kept Mahomes in check?

Ingram is a speed rusher like Ford and the Bosas are more traditional DE's. They are definitely similar on the edges. They both also did a number on the Packers during the regular season.

AGree.
I'll just add that somebody earlier said something about Mike Shanahan doing scouting reports on KC. I can see him doing that to help his son. Mike's not slouch at attacking defenses either. Both Walsh and Mike coached with Al Davis, who was one hell of a coach himself and created the legendary super bowl Raider defenses of old. A lot of the Seifert/Carroll nickel defenses were based off of the Raider philosophy of **Attack and take away** vs Bend but don't break.

It's hard to compare division games though. It's the same with us. For whatever reason, we don't play SEA to the same level as other teams do (or ARI). But definitely looking at that tape for anything that can help.

They don't seem very intelligent on that board. One Chiefs poster is just stating facts about us and everyone is getting mad at him and telling him to go to a 49ers board. LOL. One example, a poster said we lost to the Falcons and that makes us beatable. The other poster said that they Chiefs lost to the Colts, so don't get cocky. The original poster says "yeah, well we had injuries". The other guy then responds with the 49ers were missing 5 starters on their D during the Falcons game, so not an excuse. After that, they got mad at him.

It was pretty funny.

I rest my case. Hit Mahomes early and build up a good lead. Worked in Foxborough.
