🏆 SF 49ERS vs KC CHIEFS PREGAME THREAD - SUPER BOWL LIV 🏆

The DC and 2/3 of the personnel were the same. What it illustrates, and what it highlights for the Super Bowl, is that Ford and Bosa need to have strong games (as they have most of this year) to lift the rest of the defense. Most notably different on offense is Deebo and Sanders, who have lifted our overall passing game a lot, though not as dramatically as Ford and Bosa on D. If we have good games from those four key players, and cut down on the penalties that killed us last year, then we should be able to flip the script and come out on top.

Warner is a vastly different player now than he was as a rookie in game 3.

Sherman is playing much better after recovering from his injury. Our safeties are different but yes the biggest difference are the additions at edge but Greenlaw and Kwon are also big time additions.

That Chiefs offense is scary regardless of who they play and their OL is very good at pass pro and Mahomes makes it even harder to bring him down due to his size and mobility. Our DL will have to play their asses off and our secondary better be on point too.

It is truly f**king ridiculous. Crown him already. Media has made me hate him and his annoying Kermit the frog voice.

You can just see with the eye test that Mahomes is nowhere near the level of runner and elusiveness as Wilson, Jackson and Murray. Im sure Mahomes can run around on defenses with front 7's as slow as Houstons and Tennessee

When I saw the highlight of his TD run I thought they were playing it in slow motion . Mahomes is excellent in making people miss within the pocket but if he takes off and tries to start running a bunch I think our LB's have PLENTY of speed to stop him.

95.7 the Game: "Lets not pat Jed on the back, just yet. He got LUCKY Elway chose Joseph over Shanahan. He got LUCKY Jacksonville went with Marrone."

-Pretty much yesterday's show discussed whether or not he should deserve some praise for the turnaround. The hosts and the morons that called in pretty much trashed him the entire show.

"I would feel the same way about the 49ers going into this game if KIRK COUSINS was the QB. It's the system. Shanahan is the best play-caller in the NFL. Only Baker & Jameis had more games with an INT. If Jimmy Garappolo is better than I think he is, then the Chiefs have no chance of winning this game because the 49ers are a more complete team. There's a reason the Chiefs are favored."

-Nick Wright

This is why I don't watch TV or listen to the radio anymore (not because they are saying mean things about my team, but because of the sheer ignorance of these "analysts.")

So Nick Wright admits the Niners are a more complete team but then states the chiefs should be favored? Got it. lol

What a s**tty take.....Look, did it take Jed a while to get his head on straight yes? But he was a new owner, what do you really expect. I wasn't pleased about the slum lord years either but lets be honest here, nobody sets out to stink, he hired guys who he thought knew how to run football ops. He was wrong, but he has those guys now and cutting GM's and coaches until he found them with zero worry about what he had to pay those cast offs while paying the new guy shows a dedication to winning that is at least deserving of some respect.
Jed deserves a ton of credit. Not as much as Shanny, Lynch, and Paraag but he wants to win, learns from his mistakes, and cultivates a great atmosphere.

Just watched the KC vs Titan game. Just some observations. To stop the titan run game (king henry), KC had to go to a goal line formation. Otherwise even if they knew he was running the ball, he was still ripping 2 and three yard gains off the KC run defense.

KC has a mediocre run game, but a big portion of their run game is Pat Mahomes.

Finally, we are up against another Russel Midget type of QB that can scramble out of a pass rush. It's a good thing we have beat most of the off schedule QB's we've faced this year.

I think our run game can control the game. Titans were ahead 10 points but could not keep the lead because they couldn't convert 3rd downs through the air. We can.

We have to keep Mahomes on the sidelines, because it takes him a bit of time to warm up that offense of theirs. I think the cold weather has something to do with it at their home turf. Their WR's kept dropping balls or Pat overthrowing in the beginning of the game. That's how titans got the lead in the first place. Also titans defense was pretty good. However the titan defense got tired.

Pat scrambles at the end of the first half for a go ahead TD because the titan defense got tired after Mahomes converted a couple of third downs with his legs on that last KC drive in the first half.

Titans could not mount a comeback because they were unable to pass on that KC pass defense, but titans could move the ball with good play action passes. Titans had to abandon the run because they were behind and running out of time--- otherwise titans did have a lot of success on the ground.

I came away from that game feeling that we're facing Seadderall- all over again. Good that we beat those kinds of teams, bad that we cant make too many mistakes against KC or we will lose the game.

Mahomes is no where near as elusive as Wicket, Murray or Jackson. He is a lot stronger though...it makes him hard to bring down but easier to get your hands on him. For the way we are built I prefer that all day long. I trust Bosa and Buck to get him on the ground a lot more than one of those hard to tackle in a phone booth sort of guys.

I cant take anything away from Mahomes and the Chiefs. They are in the super bowl for a reason but your comparing the Titans defense to the Niners? Thats a slap in the face. Titans were 24th against the pass this year and 13th in sacks. The Niners are #1 against the pass and #5 in sacks. I doubt thats a fluke. We wont shut them down but it also wont be a cakewalk for the Chiefs offense. Niners also have a better, more diverse offense than the Titans and will probably be able to keep Mahomes on the sidelines a bit more.

I love me some Alex Smith but this is the stupidest f**king thing I've ever heard. Jimmy G's balls are ten times bigger than Smith. The dude stands in the pocket and converts third downs like no one in the NFL right now.

Calling Jimmy G a game manager is simply lazy and ignorant at this point. He's not being hidden. He just has no ego therefore Shanahan can do what works and not have to worry about getting Jimmy his stats. Team first football at it's finest.

The chief fans are a bunch of arrogant p****s. Jimmy G is the opposite of a game manager, more like a gunslinger the way he stands in the pocket and shows no fear.

Remember when the Vikings fans were constantly bringing up last years 49ers loss? like they were gonna do the same thing in the Playoffs. How did that work out for them?

The same is being done now with the Media/fans using last year's game as a measuring stick for the outcome in the Superbowl. Do they not know we have vastly improved on both sides of the ball? Do they know the game isn't in Kansas City. My gawd the ignorance of these people is overwhelming.

They in for a rude awakening on February 2nd

If the Niners are hoisting the Lombardi in 10 days, I doubt Jed cares whether he gets the credit or not from the media. Jed said he wanted to win with class and now we have been.
Saw a guy yesterday drop $15,000 on KC I told him I already had the Niners @ +250 for $1,200
The scary thing about KC is not that Mahomes is as elusive as Murray, Wilson, etc it's that his weapons are 10x better than theirs. He's throwing to Kelce, Hill and Watkins. An arsenal that made Alex Smith into a real qb. You combine that with Mahomes being that d good and it's going to be hard to stop no matter how good your d is especially with today's rules.
I for one am glad the Chiefs fans are so goddamn arrogant and disrespectful. I look forward to the drinking those tears from an autographed Jerry Rice mini helmet in my den should we win. I see very few people in here acting like the Chiefs suck...if we lose, we lost to a damn good team. If they lose...apparently they lost to " trash that played nobody and doesn't even belong here" Hell I hope their team is just as full of their own s**t....It will be so great when we come out an punch them right square in the mouth.
