SF 49ERS vs GB PACKERS Pregame Thread - 2019 NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

Did a little snap count analysis from last week . . .

49ers Defense vs GB Offense
GB's OL was on the field for 68 snaps including ST's. Adams played 59 snaps, Jones 54, Most others well under 40.

49ers defense had AA at 42 snaps, and Buckner 41 including ST's. Bosa was next at 35. No other Niner defender played more than 30 snaps.

So the core of the GB offense played roughly twice as many plays as the majority of our defense which also forced 3 & outs on 7 of 10 Viking drives.

49ers Offense vs GB Defense
49ers OL played 76 snaps including ST's, Kittle had 68, Sanders 61, Deebo 56 and Juice 54. All others on offense were under 35.

GB defense maxed out with NT Kenny Clark at 61 snaps, P. Smith at 49, Lowry at 48, Fackrell at 48 and Williams at 42 including ST's. Most others were under 30.

BUT most of the 49ers offensive snaps were relatively low stress downhill pounding run plays, while GB's defense was on the field for 35 snaps in the 2nd half getting gassed chasing the charmed dwarf all over the field.

Add in the built-in advantage that GB has one less day to recover then it becomes a bigger deal. If the 49ers can start fast and get up by a couple of possessions early this could easily turn in to a textbook boat race.

EXPECT the Packers to have LOTS of ROLL OUTS and INSIDE PLAY ACTION FAKES to SLOW down our PASS RUSH..

that was in Santa Clara...

And the Rams have better offensive personnel.

And Goff is a bit more spry, but I agree they'll try to move the pocket and roll Rodgers a lot.

That is about as cheesey as I get.
Packers might get a few points off of their scripted plays but I can't see them consistently move the ball on this defense after the first quarter.

Definitely, wouldn't be surprised the roll out is the opening play. If he rolls to his right there's Dee Ford, to his left Nick Bosa. Pick your poison.

That's fine. Cousins tried rolling out too but had someone in his face waiting

Hopefully we hit Rodgers early and often. When he gets hit early, his game fades away usually.

He's going to be a sitting duck - he just can't move like he used to.
