49ers vs Vikings pregame thread - Divisional Round 2019

Man I'm nervous the more I think about this game! We may be favorites but this Vikings team went into New Orleans and found a way to win!

It's okay to be nervous right? 16 games and it all comes down to Saturday. Ugh it's been so long since we've been in the playoffs I forgot how it feels! I'll probably be a mess within the first five minutes lol

I just watched the lasted installment of brick by brick, I came away thinking Seattle is the second best team in the NFC and we were a missed field goal away from sweeping them. The episode reaffirmed this teams dominance in my mind.

I look at the boxscore now and Green Bay was 1-15 on Third Down Conversions.
From what I can tell, these are the third down "Yards To Go" on those.

blah blah blah tldr

Vikings will attempt to avoid 3rd and long.

Thanks for the insight Booger.

If they find themselves with the opportunity to kick the game winner on a 3rd and long, I suggest they run a quick draw play then spike the ball.

Yep! The more the week goes on, the more confident I am feeling that this Niners team is VERY special and is not going to let all of their fight for the division and 1 seed go to waste. Too talented and too good of a coaching staff with vets to let this happen.

We went there too and won. And we didn't even need an overtime.

On a real note, yeah that's not a bad idea, but I do hope Gould is on his game if we need him

That's definitely Minnys game, run run run run some more, even if it's not that effective. Your offense didn't set the world on fire against the saints, BUT with how your D held NO in check it allowed them to be patient and stick with the run and throw when necessary. IF the Niners can get a good sized lead on you guys, and your forced to throw, it's game over IMO. Our defense feasts on pass first offense (at least now that we have Dee Ford back to help with the pass rush).

Overall I think this will be a great close game (but of course I am hopeful for Niners domination ) And the Niners, in particular Jimmy G, get it done when needed most.

Looking forward to it!

Yes obvious passing situations play directly into the strength of our defense, before we started getting injuries on defense, we were on a historic pace for pass defense , it will be interesting considering that your run game is similar to ours (zone run) and your guys mostly run with heavy personell packages (very rarely go with 3 wide outs) and our wide 9 defensive front could end up being susceptible to more inside runs(which you don't normally do). Our run D on the edges has been pretty good, but weaker up the middle.

I have a strong feeling all 32 teams "attempt to avoid 3rd and long".

We didn't need to take a week off to rest our key players either. Hell we were in the midst of a trifecta of powers. Their division leader GB BAL NO

He's just trying to get some free publicity from Sherm at this point.
