Saints fans are the biggest crybabies in the NFL with the seaCAWKS right behind them.

This game counts as 2 wins, since we essentially won a playoff game by getting the bye (not to mention avoiding having to play away games at GB, NO or Seattle for that matter...

Could you imagine having to play on the road again in Seattle? That would just be the worst. At least we won't have to deal with their fans again if they come to SF in 2 weeks, Levi's will be rocking.

How was that 3rd and 9 touchdown play with 5:52 to go in the 3rd quarter not called on the SheHawks when Wilson was clearly over the line?

His left foot was still behind the line. Reply showed that clearly. Literally the ENTIRE body has to be over the line, for it to be an illegal pass.

This is what I was talking about folks. As long as Pete Carroll is coaching and Russ is QB,this team is a threat.

You're right. I don't relish that fact, but it is a fact. Wilson will be a thorn in our side for another decade.

MURRAY too

Hence why I think another speedy edge rusher is a major need. Build depth and have a potential replacement for Ford. Keep that pass rush lethal.

We need another one to rotate Ford and his knee will last longer. Without two beasts on the edge we cant get the sacks cause teams will just concentrate on what Bosa is doing and slow him down.

Love those old school uniforms.

Wish we would go back to these. The best uniform ever. That is also why I became a niner fan when I was 6 years old. There was something magical about the uniform colors and set up

I like the early 90s and late 80s better

BTW how stupid is collinsworth saying we should take a safety.

you clearly run a sneak there.

No. Nobody knew how much time was left. I figured 4-6 seconds. A safety is the correct call there.YYou would be kicking off with 1-3 seconds left. The moment the returner touches it they have to attempt the return.

But with 9 seconds the returner has time to give himself up and not return it.

A sneak is risky because the D is only looking for a strip.

they had already put 9 seconds on the clock

we knew there was that much time left when he suggested it

No we didnt. The safety was suggested during the. Review. Before they said put 9 seconds on the clock.

Then he said a safety does not kill you but he then questioned going for a safety with 9 seconds.

A safety is the absolute wrong move in that situation.

The announcers don't know sh*t about the game so let me explain why it's so wrong.

You take a safety it becomes 23-26 niners. You then have to kick the ball.

The return man then can either return it with no time left or (and this is the part most people don't get) he can call fair catch and the team can elect a fair catch kick for a free kick to tie the game.

That's why a safety is absolutely wrong in that situation. If the punt is short or even within 70 yards a fair catch kick is possible even with no time. This would tie the game and send it to overtime.

Which might be the dumbest rule in pro sports.

It should need to be out your hand before you cross the line. Simple.

You're right, the rule is stupid. Why not where the ball is released?

Gotta protect the quarterback, and his ability to get rid of the ball. Put a skirt on 'em.

I had a really, really bad feeling when the ball was punted on 4th and 1, the defense clearly wasn't stopping anyone at that point. I had the same feeling at the end of the Atlanta game -- btw, how similar was this game to that Atlanta game other than the result from the last real play from scrimmage?

When the defense starts looking like complete garbage at the end of the game, I think we have to take our chances on 4th and short. In this game, if we turn over the ball on downs, the worst case scenario is Seattle scores a TD and we get the ball back like in the Saints game. What happened was predictable -- Wilson goes down to the goal line and damn near wins the game as time runs out.

What I was thinking. especially with Garappolo running the show. Guy has nerves of steel.
Even if they don't make it on fourth down (I'd lay odds they would have). Let the Hawks score quickly. Get the ball back and kick a field goal for the win with no time left.
I wouldn't have given two cents for the Niners D stopping Wilson. And they damn near didn't. they got torched by a rookie 4th string running back all night long! SMH.
This is the FIRST time all season that the D has come through in the clutch. In all the Niners losses the D had the chance to close out the game, but didn't come through. In all the Niners close wins it's been the offense that has held the ball or scored for the win. This defense gets all the praise, but it's been the offense that has actually carried the team.

Yes, he was great. 18/22, >250 yds

He is quickly starting to become very Montana/Brady like in clutch situations. I don't care if the guy has fancy stats. Clutchness is the most important QB trait IMO. Let's watch the magic continue all the way to the Championship

I have no idea why Saleh would wait until the last drive of the game to bring a 5th and 6th rusher. They finally got pressure and Wilson finally threw incompletions. This four man rush only works with Dee Ford in there. So frustrating to watch the entire second half up until the last drive.

So this. It was so obvious the four man rush wasn't working. There was no one opposite Bosa to lock Wilson in. Saleh is a liability and got way too much credit for the improvement of the defense, when really it was Ford and Bosa almost 100 percent.

Because Shanny was yelling at him. You could see him on the sideline pissed at the end. He's was mad that Wilson converted two 3rd downs.
