SF 49ERS @ SEA SEAHAWKS PREGAME THREAD - 2019 Season Week 17

Deep down inside you also feel your expressions will somehow jinx the outcome you're expecting and the 49ers will prevail. Now jinx my jinx with more pessimism!

Lord knows enough of we 49er fans have been rightfully traumatized by several, brutal 49er losses in Cheatlink the last 7-8 years to justify using a coping mechanism. I LOVE me some coping mechanism which has allowed me to sleep some nights after a loss as a diehard fan bleedin' red and gold for nearly 35 years. So yeah, voicing a worst fear is certainly a coping mechanism and if the series between these teams were tied you could conclude that any fan who predicted a 49er loss this Sunday was doing so purely as a coping mechanism.

Unfortunately, the history between these teams the last 7-8 years (which includes the current tenure of KS) is squarely in favor of Seattle so it's not ALL coping mechanism. For any fan who is aware of the 26-16 series lead by Seattle particularly when it comes to the number of times Seattle has beaten the 49ers the past 7-8 years (check out Football Database - it's sobering), a large part of it is an objective prediction based on historical data to back it up.

Of course any team can win any given Sunday and we need to take into account the Seattle's injured players and not being as good at home compared to on the road this year. That's a given. But we also can't ignore the history as painful as it is and then dismiss it as a coping mechanism when a few fans acknowledge the sobering truth.

Seattle hasn't had great receivers while Wilson has been there. That's the point of that stat. They aren't getting wide open all the time. He is deadly accurate on deep passes and he always has been. Golden Tate was an average receiver but Wilson made him look good. Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse. C'mon these guys are average at best. His main guy now is Tyler Lockett who is fast but undersized. I'd put Kittle, Deebo, Sanders and Bourne up against these guys any day.

I don't think that's what it is because have you seen those deep balls he throws? He puts a ton of air under it so his receivers have time to adjust and settle down. Where's the FS? This tells me one thing, It's all about their run game. Any time they see zero coverage, which is what their run game and max protect forces, he chucks up a rainbow.

Remember that game three flys up? Put a NFL WR in that game and there is a huge advantage. That's what Wilson is allowed to throw with the run game they have. And they have that run game because they, at times, being in three OT and two TEs to force that run game to work.
This is a damn clown show, who cares

Lol the last time SF swept Seattle was in 2011 then it was all downhill after that. Lol

lol...exactly, and when I just looked at Football Database I realized how downhill-after-that it really was....yikes!! Hopefully KS can channel his inner Bill Walsh and win so I can add some years back to my life. Go 49ers!!
Is it just me or does Joe Fann irritate anyone else when he posts seahawks stuff?
