There's one thing to be self loathing but at the end of the day if you don't think we're going to wax that ass week 17 you can get the hell out!

Here's to waxing that ass

I'll be shocked if he gets more than 10 touches this week.

He'll get more than 10 touches - maybe 15-20 is more realistic I think.

LOL @ being scared what he'll do in the 2nd level, and potentially getting 20 touches.

yeah I predict Lynch will be a non-factor on field. He'll get plenty of carries since they have no one else but he will get stuffed. OFF the field is where he's more of a problem for us. He's already got the other Shehacks fired up. The young ones are thrilled he's there.

Once he gets stuffed for 9 yards on his first 6 carries they'll get over it.

Semantics. $14.6M this year plus a $19.75M dead cap if cut. The POINT is we shelled out a ton of money for a player who didn't play for us esp. when we needed him most and the future ain't looking too bright if this is year 1 of that contract.

Missing the point on SAM too. Al-Shaair is like 230 pounds soaking wet. Again, not even the point of bringing up SAM.

And finally, no, he's a ONE snap guy this year and it's not just his hammy...quad too. If you don't think that's all correlated here, he's dealt with soft tissue issues with the Chiefs too and this certainly won't be the last...that is, if he can ever get on the field.

semantics lol. WHY would they cut him the same yr they signed him. It wasn't $20M for a yr of play. So you were wrong

Dude that's the price of getting a good edge rusher in the off season. You're always about getting vet help, it's expensive and comes with a risk on top of it. You wanted to sign Arob who came off a torn ACL. Sometimes it's good sometimes it not. You also act like he's been useless all yr. Ford is almost avg a sack a game this yr AND that's with hardly playing vs Browns/Panthers because they were blow outs.

What point am I missing with you wanting to play him at SAM? he's not gonna play it, that was never in the cards. overall it's the least important position on the field. I want meaningful snaps. Who gives a s**t if he plays 60% of the total snaps if 30% of those snaps mean nothing

We have no idea what the future is for Ford. Reportedly he is going to have surgery on his knee (they can remove damaged tissue to relieve pain and allow the tendon to heal).

Ford hasn't missed a single game because of the knee/quad...he pulled a hammy THEN tried to come back too soon. It was a bad move on everyone. That's not some crazy thing that only happens to him.

I don't know what kind of koolaid eggnog you've been drinking this holiday season, but I want some! Agree to disagree on this one.

Been following this epic discussion for a while. Just one thing to add - the purchase price for Ford included a 2nd rounder which we REALLY could use this off season for a myriad of positions, particularly center/guard, safety, LB or WR.

That's the price you pay to get an good young vet...people will complain if they didn't do anything and people will complain if that player doesn't straight up ball out. In this case it's a hammy injury. He's part of the reason we're at where we're at.

I thought after a couple interviews (from lynch/Shanny/Ford) his role on this defense was obvious. He's a nickel edge rusher that's job is to pin his ears back and go. We all talked about ways to get him on the field more just because...but what's the point with getting him on the field more if those snaps aren't going to be meaningful snaps? 2nd and long 3rd and long, that's where he belongs.

Now did we pay too much for a player that has shown he's pretty dominant on those downs? maybe, maybe not. IMO he's a closer (when on the field) on the most important down on defense.

The hammy is a setback. It's not like he's the only dude that's been injured on this team Sounded like he was working out on the sidelines the other day, which is a great sign he should be good to go for the playoffs.

It's weird to me because I've always been the guy that's against trading away picks AND spending big money in FA. NC is the guy that's seems to always be for it, yet here we are

I'm just pointing out some stuff where you were stretching it a little...like that contract and what money he's really due. His got a hamstring injury, is what it is. It's not some career ending thing. IMO he shouldn't have been brought back after just two weeks. I also think he will play in the playoffs and that's part of the reason they're taking it slow with him.

He's already spoke about the knee issue and how he's gonna have surgery after the season. Hopefully it gives him a couple more seasons where the pain won't be as much as a factor.

It's funny, I'm always the guy who's not all about signing big time vets or trading drafting picks for proven guys and you are lol. yet here we are

FWIW I wouldn't be shocked if they restructured his contract. They could give him a little more guaranteed cash (he's not guaranteed much after this yr) and he can get all that money back through incentives.

It's all good. I understand your position. It doesn't change anything this year (magical year) unfortunately but hopefully he can give us enough this post season and then after surgery, a couple more years. I'm just not that optimistic about it. Hope my concern is wrong.

That is funny...and ironic.
