I stated this in the Jimmy G thread - we will need an Arizona type performance from him. Seattle will put up points. High 20s, maybe even 30s. Seattle's run defense is better than their pass defense, and Carrol will have the defense keying in on the run and stacking the box. Jimmy will have to make throws, and he will. He'll have a big game and this huge stage. Jimmy will go heads up against the best QB he's faced in his career.

I don't foresee our backs getting 250 and 4 TDs this game. I also don't foresee us shutting down Wilson, Carson, Lockette and co. They will put up points. Wilson will pick on E-Man. Jimmy will need to step up.

Let's do this: Jimmy, Kittle, Emmanuel, Deebo will all come thru for us

I agree. I think we need to score at least 30 to win, maybe higher. This game could be similar to the Rams/Chiefs game from last year. Neither defense is very good, but both offenses are able to put up points. Jimmy is going to have to be elite.

Watch the 2nd half of the Arizona game and tell me we have a good defense.

watch the ravens seahawks game and tell me the seahawks are a good team

The Ravens are a legitimately good team though. They might be the favorites to win the Super Bowl along with the Saints after their win against NE. It's not surprising that Seattle lost to them.

dude lay off the f**king crack and find something better to do than talk bs out your ass

No BS about it. The Ravens look like the favorites to come out of the AFC right now. Saints currently look like the best team in the NFC. There's no legitimate case to make that the 49ers are better than the Saints right now other than the difference in one loss, but the Saints have played a significantly harder schedule and have had to do a lot of it with their backup QB.

Ravens got beat by Browns and Chiefs .

And so what? They've beaten NE and the Seahawks convincingly in back to back weeks. I'm not going to hold a loss that was weeks ago against them when they look like the best team right now.

Ravens are the sexy team right now but they beat the Pats coming off a bye week at home after bringing out all of their HOFers. THIS was their Superbowl.

At this point I don't know how you can legit pick Baltimore out of the AFC over the Patriots or the Chiefs.

Baltimore is playing excellent football right now but I have serious questions about whether Lamar can last a full season being used the way they're using him.

Either way...I really only care about Baltimore when we have to play them. We just have to keep doing our thing and we'll care about the AFC Champion only if we get into the SB.

Let's hope we end up caring about it.

No, they don't - they look like contenders, but to say the favorites, no way.

I think most folks know that if Mahomes is healthy it's hard to say anyone is clearly the favorite.

That's easy. Saints, Ravens, Niners in that order.

I see Seattle going all out to stop the run and trying to see if Jimmy can beat them (which he can). They'll bring a safety down into the box and run blitz on first down knowing Kyle's tendency to run it on that down a majority of the time.

Hopefully KS will get away from that in this game and opt for more play action on 1st down or take a few shots down field to get the Seahawks D to back out of the box. If they don't do it after a shot play, they will when Jimmy burns them repeatedly in the intermediate area.

Pretty much every team has been trying to do that vs SF this yr. they've played vs better DLs and were still able to run the ball. Getting Juice and Joe back will be huge.

SF NEEDS to get pressure on Wilson with just 4 guys. They need to make tackles.

Yes, I understand we're getting Joe et al back, but we cant run for 200+ yards all the time (I know what we're averaging per game). Balance is good too, and we need Jimmy's arm to make them pay for stacking the box and run blitzing if they choose to do that like AZ did. We were moderately successful in AZ running but Jimmy made them pay dearly no matter what coverages they were in.

As long as we win, it doesn't matter to me how it gets done. I do think we will force a couple turnovers on defense, and Jimmy G usually always makes the most out of those opportunities. We've been much better in the redzone the last few weeks, so that is encouraging to see us get 7 rather than 3.

I think it's fair to question it. It was the Niners first test against a truly mobile QB. They can either exacerbate or put to rest any doubts about their ability to shut down mobile QBs on Monday.

They got killed on screens, they didn't play disciplined football. They took poor angles and instead of doing their job, they tried to be the one to make a play. There's no need to do that when you're up multiple scores.

SF wasn't swarming to the ball. They missed 17 tackles that game and only had 9 missed tackles the whole season prior. There were plenty of small gains (or even negative ones) that turned into big gains because of poor tackling.

Imo they simply weren't prepared. Got a nice long week to get ready for this game. While I don't think our D is as good as it's been the first 7 weeks I do think it's still pretty damn impressive.

All very good points. Also consider that Andy Isabella accounted for 88 yards of their offense on one catch. That catch happened to be his third of the entire season. It wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that in a short week, the team saw no footage of Isabella to prepare for his speed. FYI, his senior year he won the state 100m title in Ohio beating out Denzel Ward. Last year everyone took bad angles on Kittle, misjudging his speed. No-one misjudges it this year. No way Isabella breaks a long run on us next week. Take out that play and Murray had only 153 yards passing.

Yeah that was another play where they didn't play disciplined football. Eman went for the INT instead of making the play after he catches it. I can understand that to a point, but SF had the lead there. Sherm and Ward took poor angles as well.

SF's D for 90% of the season has played disciplined ball. Controlled chaos. swarm to the ball, that didn't happen last TNF. They should be ready this week

I won't crown the Saints as the best in the NFC until I see that Brees' thumb can hold up the rest of the season.
Quick question for the mods..what is Seattle "Toots"!?

I just visited the seahawks site and they pointed out how immature our fanbase is because of this naming convention. They actually give us respect as their gameday thread says "San Francisco 49ers". Maybe we can change it and seem more professional?

Just my two cents.
