I usually subscribe to the thought process that offense is a lot about scheme and defense is about having dudes. Doesn't make it right but that's my thoughts and I voted accordingly.

This can't be stated enough. I agree with the overall assessment, but more than anything it's "BORD" (<--- I need to make a graphic now).

I was thinking of the "BORG" ...something like "you will be assimilated" ???

You should really have John Lynch's name next to improved player talent since they go hand and hand. Putting a 12 sack guy in Ford and pairing him next to 12 sack guy in Buckner and drafting Bosa who looks like he will be a 10 plus sack guy soon enough is just an embarrassment of riches. Everyone is impressed with the corner play and Armstead's emergence and Saleh's coaching but these guys are getting the rewards of Ford, Buckner, & Bosa.

The defense front 7 could be better than when we had J Smith, A. Smith, Willis, Bowman.

I always hate the comparisons but I will say that this defensive front is definitely deeper. There really isn't a weak spot which is a nightmare for O coaches trying to game plan. Where do you attack? The Rams tried to attack the run to keep Goff from getting crushed and had success in the first drive. Then the Niners adjusted and pretty much stopped that. If you try and attack a weak spot in the secondary which isn't really that weak then you need to have enough time to throw. That pass rush is making it a lot easier for the D backs to cover. Glad I don't have to face them.

I feel like we won't see what the defense is REALLY made of until Aaron Rodgers, and Drew Brees. elite, accurate quarterbacks throwing under center. they're going to get the out quick and are going to easily get those underneath throws and not miss as many deep one's.

Kocurek. We weren't really having any success with the Cover 3, so his switch to the Wide 9 has transformed this D. Obviously adding the personnel to enable the change is a big factor too.

If they dont get time to throw, the QB isn't going to matter. This D is smothering entire passing games.
