IMHO, when Ward, Witherspoon, E-Man, T.Moore, K.Williams, Greenlaw and hell, even Dontae Johnson yesterday are all looking like all pro's, that's talent up front: Armstead, Buckner, Ford, Bosa, Thomas, Blair and Jones.

When you can get the constant pressure we are getting only rushing 4 you could make pretty much any DC look like a genius.
I find all this talk about Saleh being a future HC talk comical. I mean if Shanny walked away I sure as hell would not want him as our HC.

Wow, not a simple answer. All the parts are better than the whole. The DL of Dee, Buck, Arik and Nick...Cripes nobody beats them. The front 7 ...add in Kwon who stopped the passes across the middle, warner always on the ball, and now Dre,
And then add in K'waun rated the #1 slot corner by PFF, uncle sherm, spoon until injured, then Ward(???really?)...yup, Tartt,...it just is the whole entire pacakage Thl. No way one specific guy or DL , LBs or DBs stands out. They stand together and i think that is what makes this bunch so damn dominant.
Have YOU seen a D this young, this awesome in your yrs of football. I am beginning to think these guys are the best 11 I have seen. Season is young and lots can happen...but the main thing? Every body does his job...and not well, but spectacularly.
So you have to add in saleh, woods and kocurek to that package. I know that's not what you wanted but that's what i see.

The team has lacked an edge pass rush for a long time. No way they could be great without a good edge rusher and now they have two great ones.
Saleh has the horses now and his defense is shining.

I'll take it a step further and breakdown the credit assignment. Of course this is speculation since I'm not in the meeting room to know exactly what and how each person has contributed.
50% player talent: I see the pass rush. I see Kwon and Warner buzzing around making plays. I am bias towards players over coaches.
20% Saleh: He's the guy in charge, he's calling the plays.
20% Kocurek/Chris Kiffen: I think he/they get a lot of credit for AA's improvement as well as integrating Bosa and Ford into the mix.
10% Woods: He's scouting the opposition and most likely has played a big role in bringing in a variety of coverages. Important, but I think there are other coaches that can do what he is providing for this defense.

Why would you not want him as a head coach? (Jed better make Kyle the richest coach in the NFL and look him up for a long time)
A lot of people prefer an offensive minded coach, but as fans we are a little in the dark here on how much impact Saleh has on the defense.
Saleh is super impressive in interviews and press conferences. Comes off as a smart, polished guy. He'll do well in interviews probably. He'll be a HC next year

Pick one. The one that you think has had the most impact.

Kyle Shanahan / John Lynch. It's their vision. Starts at the top. Everyone from front office to coaching to players is doing their part right now, so kudos all around.
